Nope, not me I already own all the Treasures and the only ones that I don't have from the Classic Cartoon sets is 2 Donald Duck shorts and all the Chip 'n' Dale shorts. We already know that Donald Duck volume 2 is comfirmed but hopefully Chip 'n' Dale get a Treasure set too.

...I was waiting for a great deal on the 4 movies (and even though someone mentioned that if you get a Disney gift card and purchase the 4 @ the Disney store, they'd be $25.00...I didn't think that was a GOOD enough deal.)

I think I realized a reason why these might be good for people who already have the treasures sets, but it only really applies to people who have children. I put in the second disc of the goofy treasures yesterday, and I realized that I couldn't figure out a way to make it "Play all." I could pick from a chronological list, or I could pick from an alphabetical list, but I couldn't figure out a way to just make them play. I may have missed something, because I don't remember the mickey mouse treasures being that way. Anyway, if you have kids, it might be worth it to by the less expensive discs so that they can watch them without selecting individual shorts. I have the chip and dale disc, but I wasn't really planning on getting anymore. I wish they would make a humphrey bear one, though. I wonder if there will be a second chip and dale disc because they left out the lone chimpmunk - there would be enough other chip and dale shorts to make another disc.
Here's an even cheaper alternative: Backup your treasures to DVD-R and give it to the kidshumphreybear wrote:I think I realized a reason why these might be good for people who already have the treasures sets, but it only really applies to people who have children. You can download free software that can crack the copy protection. Now that dual layered DVD burners are so cheap, it is very easy to make perfect backups.englishboy wrote:Here's just a dumb question. Can you back up the treasures to a DVD-R. I thought they were right protected. Can you do it with a home unit? Or do you need to burn it on a rom drive?
By the way, I tried to do the $15 for all 4 DVDs, and it doesn't work. The cupon included with the Disney gift card (which gives you a $15 discount if you buy 4 DVDs), doesn't work in combination with any other discount offers.

Both good options, but Class316 makes a good point, which is something us collectors often forget - not every person who buys a Disney DVD is an obsessive internet fan. That is why the Treasures are limited, because they are really only pitched at a niche market - the fans of animation or Disney generally. Not every kid can - or wants - to sit through 5 hours of black and white Mickey shorts. Or any of the 60+ year old shorts.Class316 wrote:Here's an even cheaper alternative: Backup your treasures to DVD-R and give it to the kidshumphreybear wrote:Anyway, if you have kids, it might be worth it to by the less expensive discs so that they can watch them without selecting individual shorts. These provide a great alternative for people with kids, or an affordable option for people who just want a couple of Disney shorts on a DVD. Admittedly, this would work better if the "standard favourites" were on these sets, and we do have a rather jumbled mess of a collection. The Mickey one, for example, should have 'Steamboat Willie as a standard 'best of' option, or Lonesome Ghosts (as it is one of those "must see" shorts). They were just two examples, but I'm sure someone knows what I'm talking about.
