Your Favourite Pixar/Disney Movie
My list...
The Incredibles...I was amazed by this film...Judging by the previews,I thought it'd be a comedy, but instead it's a mix of action, comedy, and drama(and it blends the three together well)....Also,I loved Edna Mode...all her scenes were a riot..
Finding Nemo....I enjoyed it quite a bit...Dory was funny, and Nemo was cute...
Monsters Inc....I love the relationships between Sulley and Mike(John Goodman and Billy Crystal worked well together) and Sulley and Boo(I love that she calls him "kitty")
Toy Story 1+2...I can't decide whether 1 or 2 is better....they were both funny...though I guess I like 2 better, because Buzz and Woody became friends, and I liked the scenes set in Al's Toy Barn...
A Bug's Life....It was OK....while it's my least favorite of the Pixar films,I still consider it a good movie...I like the scene where the young ants put on a play for the circus bugs("We drew one of you dying because our drama teacher said it'd be more dramatic")

This is a very tough one. Since this is a discussion, I must give a little background history. A Bugs Life was the first Disney/Pixar film I saw, and it was after it was released to DVD. A friend of mine said that I HAD to watch it. I was reluctant, at first, but I said, "Sure, why not?" After I finished watching it, I HAD to get it for myself. Then, the second one I saw was Monster's Inc. Again, I saw it only after it had been released to DVD. A friend and his wife had me over for dinner, and said, "You've got to see this great movie. It's by the people who did Toy Story, A Bug's Life, and Toy Story 2". I hadn't seen either Toy Story, but since I had a A Bug's Life on DVD, and LOVED it, I was excited to see Monster's Inc. I went, the very next day, to pick up my own copy. It was absolutely brilliant! Of course, the preview of Finding Nemo was on Monster's Inc., and I decided that, when it came out in the theater, I'd see it. I went, on opening day, with Jim and Sarah (the couple who introduced me to Monster's Inc.). I fell in LOVE with Finding Nemo, right there in the theater. I wanted to see it, again, right away. Since later viewings were sold out, we waited a few weeks to see it, again. Even better the second time around. I finally decided that I needed to see the Toy Story movies. I was out of luck! I couldn't buy a copy, and the rental locations never had them in. It just so happened that Jim and Sarah had both films. They let me borrow the DVD's, but I only got to see half of Toy Story, and never did watch Toy Story 2. I was so busy with work, at that time, that I literally just didn't have time to watch them. I finally took the DVD's back to my friends, and I told them I'd have to come over to their house, and watch them, at some point. However, I always forgot to ask them to put them in, when I'd go over to their house. When The Incredibles came out, Jim (he and his wife divorced, unfortunately), and a few of our friends, got together to see it on opening day. We were ALL blown away. To me, this was the best movie I saw in ALL of 2004, and in a VERY long time.
At the beginning of this year, I decided I would buy The Ultimate Toy box, if I could find a true copy on E-bay. I finally did, and paid a handsome price. I've never regretted it! Truly exceptional films!
Asking me to rank them is VERY hard to do, as I truly enjoy every single one. Here goes:
6.) A Bug's Life- The first Pixar film I saw. I fell in love with it, instantly. A great story, great characters, and most of all, heart. A male lady bug! Hilarious!
5.) Monster's Inc.- Everytime I see this film, I laugh. Billy Crystal and John Goodman are great together, and the oddity of the characters is hilarious. Boo is just so cute, and the end of this movie makes me shed a tear, EVERY time!
4.) Finding Nemo- I absolutely LOVE this film. The characters are great (Dory is a trip!), the relationship between Marlin and Nemo, the beauty (and danger) of the ocean, and the heart of the story combine to make this film truly special. I get teary eyed in a couple of spots during this film.
3.) Toy Story- Pixar's first film certainly doesn't seem like a first. The story is excellent, the "buddy" aspect of the movie is great, and the many characters, and their voices, are top notch! This film is as exciting as it is beautiful.
2.) Toy Story 2- Better than the first, but not by much. I really liked the fact that Woody and Buzz were separated. That gave this film even more heart than the first, and the new characters are wonderful! The "Jesse's Song" part of the film is very touching, and the emotion that these computer generated characters portray is nothing short of brilliant.
1.) The Incredibles- I think that the thing that makes this film tops for me is this: It was NOT what I expected. I went into this movie thinking that it was all a comedy, but it is so much more. I truly think that Brad Bird (as well as everyone else responsible for creating this film), are geniuses. The Incredilbes has the perfect blend of comedy, action, mystery, suspense, and yes, even heart. I love how each character has specific powers that relate to who they are in life. Mr. Incredible is strong, powerful, and the provider. He fears, however, that this is simply not enough. Helen (Elastigirl) is exactly like our mothers. She's responsible for taking care of the entire family on a personal level, and she's often times stretched very thin. Violet is shy, seems out of place, and longs to be normal. Thus, she has her shield up, and often wishes to disappear. Dash is like every other little boy his age, with regards to his attitude. Excitable, always on the go, and very much a handful. Jack Jack is the typical baby. Cutesy, giggly, and also a handful. That's why I think it's brilliant when he became a ball of fire, heavy as lead, and a little devil. These are descriptions often times used to describe babies and little kids. Edna Mode is one of the best animated characters around. Not afraid to speak her mind, very powerful, and eccentric, all rolled into this little body! Also, the music in this film is excellent. It should have been nominated for an Oscar, and it should have won! I am truly glad that The Incredibles did win for Best Animated Feature Film. It truly is the BEST! Brilliant movie! I could go on, and on....but I already have!

1. Finding Nemo: I just love that movie!!! The main thing for me was the underwater/sea setting. For me, the sea is a very, very mysterious place and it is as beautiful as scary.... I can't imagine how it'll be to be in open water floating with all these creatures.... or scuba diving
Anyways, to be able to animte that, with all those details was AMAZING (as The Little Mermaid did before). Also Dory was a blast!!! Loved the pacing of the movie and everything about it.
2. The Incredibles: The first time I saw it... except for the action sequences I didn't like it that much. But now, having the DVD and watching it againg, and again, and again... made me really appreciate this movie. Jus t the whole concept was brilliant. How they choose a superhero theme and pull it off in the most unusual way.
3. A Bug's Life: Used to be my favorite. The only thing that hurts this movie is the pacing. It can be really slow at times. But other than that.... extremely colorful, the insect perspective of the world and the gags are as funny as the ones in Nemo. And all these characters are great.
4..Toy Story 2: Amazing action, extremely funny and just plain fun from the start.
5. Monsters Inc.: Yes Boo was the best, the story was sweet and the ending can make anyone cry (including me). But the main concept didn't strike me because I didn't believe in a monster that could come out of the closet, or that they even existed (basically that's not a Latinamerican cultural concept... and as such it wasn't as universal as the other themes; luckily for Pixar the important part is not the concept but the idea and the story and of course we all know they really nailed it as usual).

My favorite is The Incredibles followed closely by Toy Story 2.
I saw Toy Story 2 in its entirety for the first time a few months or so ago and holy shite it was funny as hell. So brilliant. <3 Same goes for TI, of course, or it wouldn't be my favorite Pixar movie, ne?

Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.
I have to say that there is something about Pixar films I just can't stand. I guess they're too calculated and and they try so hard that it just hurts. I don't like their visual style, especially Monster's Inc's characters looked horrible and so unimaginative. Music is too jazzy for me and oh I hate Randy Newman!
But still I can see why so many respects these films, they are somewhat clever and fresh and quite funny. But since I am a Disney fan I like Disney films much more than Pixar's.
My list:
1. The Incredibles.
I was pleased it wasn't meant to be so funny as other Pixar films (I dislike Pixar's style to be funny). And it was 20 minutes longer than other american animated films. This made characters more deep and human and story wasn't so rushed.
2. Toy Story 2.
I was surprised how much I liked this when I saw it first time in theatre. This is what the sequels should be like. So clever - yet so Pixar...
3. Monster's Inc.
Again I was surprised how touching the last few minutes of this film was - I nearly cried. But only that and the doorchase at the end gave this film the third place here. Mike was TOO annoying!
4. Toy Story.
Nice one but not so special as every critics are saying.
5. Finding Nemo.
Everyone was talking how beautiful this movie was before I saw it. But it was quite a mess compared what I was imagined. Nice graphics but even in The Little Mermeid (1989) the sea looked more charming and "real" and that was made in 2D! Fishes don't have schools, highways and other human stuff and those were so annoying things for me.
6. A Bug's Life
Nature just don't look like that (it's not realistic) and ants are NOT purple and have same amount of legs as we do. Ants are only little people here. The rain sequence is great though.

1-) Monsters Inc.- My favorite of the Pixar films. It was a great idea and story from the company, the fact that "we scare 'cause we care" was ingenius and now kids won't be so scared of the so-called boogieman..lol. It was funny and I loved the voice acting.
2-) Toy Story 2- This is indeed better than the first. It's funny and it has some charming moments. I like the song that the cowgirl sang and the overall animation.
3-) A bug's Life- This is the only Pixar movie I ever saw in theaters. It was made TOO much on the cute side, but I still liked it.
4-) Finding Nemo- Funny the first time I saw it, bad on my next views. The story is not interesting but the animation is beautiful. It's good to show off on your HD T.V at home but that's all.
5-) The Icredibles- What can I say? My least favorite, it's boring and disappointing. Just by hearing that awful beggining:
" I feel like the maid, keep it clean for 10 seconds.." --- o.k w/e
"I'm up there with the big dogs, girl common.."
I think it tries too hard to be funny, where it should've just started with the Bob sued situation. I don't know what somany people see in this, I'm just not getting it. The only good qoutes comes from the designer, I would just skip all chapters and listen to her.

Well Jeremy ... the thing is that ypu expect their movies to be 100% realistic (by your comments on Nemo), and that is precisely the problem. These movies strong point are the fantasy and liberty they project.
If you want something realistic you should go check Final Fantasy The Spirits Within or the new Final Fantasy coming soon... or maybe The Polar Express.
PS
Altough I don't blame you. I too wish they finally start exploring more genres. People will get tired. It goes like: "CGI!" ====== "Comedy"
...I'd like to see a horror movie.

1. Finding Nemo - I love this movie. The music, the animation, the script. All in all, favorite Pixar/Disney movie.
2. Toy Story - On of Pixar's first movie collaboration with Disney. I felt it had a great story. I haven't watched the entire film in a while, but I did watch a clip of it a few days ago and was reminded by how great of a movie it was.
3. The Incredibles - Not one of my absolutely favorites, but the movie did bring some memorable characters (Edna!) to the animation world. It's a movie which both adults and children and enjoy.
4. A Bug's Life and/or Montsters Inc. - Ack, tie for fourth place. These aren't my favorite movies, but I do enjoy them. I actually do not like one movie over the other.

This took a lot of deliberation, because I love them all in different ways.
Monsters Inc: The top slot ultimately went to MI simply because it is so damn sweet. I think it is impossible to not like this film. The buddy comedy is tried and true, but when it is John Goodman and Billy Crystal, you have something a little bit above average. And the interplay between Boo and is priceless and so damn sweet (I keep using that phrase, but I can't think of anything more apt). Plus, my girlfriend loves it, and that is good enough for me.
Toy Story 2: This actually managed to top the original, which seemed impossible at the time. Great evidence that sequels to animated classics CAN work. Possibly the best example of CGI animation fitting the material.
Toy Story: Tough putting this behind anything, as it totally blew me away at the time. Only third because I think the sequel IS slightly better, and MI is so cute
A Bug's Life: I love the 'Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven' premise, but there is something about this that has always "bugged" me (pun intended). Maybe it is Louis-Dreyfus and her pronunciation of "warrior" (woyer).
Finding Nemo: Loved it. Very Australian in parts, and nice to see actually Aussie actors used rather than that horrible accent you Yanks do that is hopelessly off the mark, but you all think it so clever. However, I couldn't escape that "been there, done that feeling". Spectacular animation though.
The Incredibles: This should really be my favourite Pixar film, as I am such a big comic geek. The shopfront is Fantastic Four, the comedy is great and the references are spot-on - however, there is something not quite right about it. I can't say exactly what, but I enjoyed this the least of all the Pixar films. That is not to say I didn't enjoy it, but something has to come last...

I haven't seen Toy Stories but I think Monsters Inc. is the best. Okey, Finding Nemo was good and I was very impressed by The Incredibles but I just loved Monsters Inc. That little girl was so cute.

Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.

1. Toy Story 1 & 2
That's only because I got to see the first one in theatres a LONG time ago and I remember it. I liked these movies. After I watched the first, I kept thinking either when I leave my room or fall asleep, my toys are gonna come alive and start walking and stuff.
But I liked them both.
2. Monster's Inc
Me and my friend literally BURNT ourselves out on this movie. After it came to DVD/VHS, we watched it like....45 times....
But I still like it. I watch it everytime It's on TV. Why not just put it in the player, u ask? Cause it's like....won't work....
Plus, MI has RANDALL!! =D *glomps him* The coolest and cutest critter in teh whole Disney/Pixar universe! =P
3. Finding Nemo
It had a pattern, IMO. Sad, then ok, then a joke/funny scene, then sad, then ok, ect. I didn't like it because of it's SAD parts, too many. But it was quite funny.
4. Bug Life
Saw this in theatres with my family. It was ok.....I can't really watch it now for some reason.....Didn't brun myself out on it, I know that...maybe I just don't really like it.
5. The Incredibles
DID NOT like this one. I mean, it was OK, but it was obvious who the villian was, and the whole....thing....I just didn't like it....it uh..."sucked", IMO.
