Most emotional scene in a SEQUEL!!

Post by Sorcerer Mickey »

Yes, even sequals must have an emotional scene throughout the whole movies. Pick which emotional scenes from the sequal of Disney movies surprised you, or was one of your favorites.

Mine? Well:

Peter Pan: Return to Neverland in which Peter and Wendy meet again, but only for Wendy to be in her old age. This scene made me want to cry so much, because Peter and Wendy have done a lot of things together in Peter Pan, the first movie, and here they are, meeting each other again, face-to-face.

Mulan 2: Dramatic climax in which Mulan and Shang are holding on a rope of a bridge for the dear lives. Shang, wanting Mulan to live, lets go, making an ultimate sacrifice for Mulan. It really surprised me! The part in where Shang lets go, and Mulan yelling, "SHANG!! SHANG!!!!" completely made me go, "WHOA!"

Now it's your turn. I'm sorry that it will be a pain, considering that they're Disney sequals, but I'm doing this just for fun.

I was kinda surprised by this sequence....It made me sad, even though I knew Shang couldn't really be dead...

The Lion King 2:The "One of Us" sequence is also sad for me...Kovu is exiled from the kingdom, and Kiara is kept from following....

The "He Lives in You" scene from The Lion King II... Gives me chills every time!
Other so-called dramatic scenes were quite poorly executed in my opinion... The Mulan II scene wasn't sad because it was way too predictable Shang would live.

those who saw ord of the Rings' Return of the King didn't find the Mulan2 wannabe emotionnal scene sad, because of the bad executed copy of the scene of Aragorn falling from a ... cliff!! and rescued by ... his horse! WOW!! imagination is alive at Disney!

Except of course, the sequence you mention is not in the original Lord of the Rings books, and the Mulan sequel would have been scripted and storyboarded long before Return of the King was released.

Remember when Mulan II was due to be released in some international territories at the start of 2004?

A different version f a Mulan2 script may have been storyboarded long before the LOTR3 release (with this amazing opening that didn't make it in the movie, no they prefered a lame Mushu intro), but wake up, they could always change it... ROTK was released on Xmas 2003, a movie like Mulan2 doesn't take much time to make, and to add a scene trying to improve it is a smart way to go 8) even if it has to copy, i forgive them as the whole mulan2 is such a joke!!

OK KinOO. You complain about originality and lack of it in the sequels. Even pointing out little sequences you feel were copied from other films.

Well, can you say Incredibles/Fantastic Four? :P

That would have to be my choice too, it was so sweet. It was a rare moment in a Disney sequel in my opinion. It's hard to explain, it was just the interaction.

To show that i'm not that negative, i also loved the very end of Peter Pan2, the lines of Peter to Wendy are quite touching! :)

I thought so, too. I also love the "I'll Try" song, but thought it would have fit better if they had used it in the credits and let Jane sing a version of it in the actual film.

Ot is for me the only sequel you can buy (with LionKingandahalf), i liked very mucj the beginning with Tink in the clouds, the part of the movie that took places in London dureing WW2 and the very end of the movie. When the movie takes place in Neverland, it becomes very boring and flat.

I have never seen Mulan 2 so I can't comment if that's sad or not. But for me the saddest sequel in a disney sequel is in Lady and the Tramp 2 when Scamp is being carted off to the Pound. I'm an emotional sap I know.

Mulan 2:

Where Mulan and Shang are hanging by a thread on the bridge and Shang lets go to save Mulan...

THAT was an emotional sequence.
