GARGOYLES
For anyone who is a fan of the show, the Complete first season will be released on DVD WITH an audio comentary. It will come out in 2004 for the show's 10th aniversary.
And, if it sells VERY well, then they will realease the SECOND season (which ALL of us fans at www.s8.org/gargoyles are hoping for) on DVD.
Keep your fingers crossed!!!

I'm not a fan of the show per se (I have seen it and enjoyed it on occasion), but if this holds true then it sounds like good news for fans of Disney TV animation.
Hopefully we will see some of our fave series on DVD (and I can think of at least one series that 2099 will want on DVD...).
Good find! Thanks, battlebeast - and welcome to the forum!

YYYESSSSSSS!!!! this is fantastic news. i can't wait for the dvd set. any idea of how many discs. ooooohhhh i wonder what the special features could be other than the audio commentary. thanks for the scoop and keep the info coming. does greg weisman have a fan page, they've got to have info on there from that.
Yeah. A season set of Darkwing Duck would be greatLoomis wrote:Hopefully we will see some of our fave series on DVD (and I can think of at least one series that 2099 will want on DVD...).

Oh, and a season set of a little show called House of Mouse would be fantastic.
Really I think Disney are testing the waters with this release. Gargoyles seems like a good choice, as it has a small(ish) but dedicated following who will buy the set no matter what and lots of awareness with the non-Disney geeks who may pick the set up on the off-chance.
Let's hope more season sets follow.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I never watched the show when it was on but will buy it a) because I've heard great things about it and b) I want to support Disney TV on DVD.
If Darkwing ever comes to DVD, I may die of joy.
PS: What's the news source?

Where do they come from?
Are they good quality you think?
They are obviously bootlegs so I won't delve too deep into this discussion cause I'm not sure how Luke feels about this on his forums (some animation boards are very strict about this) but since this is the only means of ever owning the entire series in digital form (or likely any other medium) I had to spring for it and I am honestly very excited!
It's supposedly excellent quality and the seller seemed to be a perfectionist from the pictures and descriptions he had given me - the box set is amazingly detailed with episode guides and screen captions on the back of each cover, looks extremely professional, almost reatil quality condition. The video quality and sound have apparently been remastered to a minimal extent but I am told this is the absolute best means of viewing the series available - including the actual yet few official vhs releases so my standards of expectance for this set are held very high. It also comes with the Treasure Of Lost Lamp feature as a bonus disc so I cannot wait to recieve this set and pop the discs in. If you want more info, email me and I can give you details and specs when it is recieved, I dont want to promote bootlegging here but I thought this was very cool and had to say something...
