Idea: Edna Mode TV Series?

Post by AwallaceUNC »

I know some people will hate the idea and I'm not even totally sure it would work myself, but Edna Mode is so funny that it seems like a TV series with her might be fun, or at the very least, a series of shorts. Her appearance on the Oscars was great. I'd hate to think that we won't get any more of her after the movie! What do you think?

(Note: No, it's not actually being considered or anything that I know of... thus the word "idea" in the title.)

You really are obsessed with teh E!

Oooh, how about a talk show? Bring on celebrities and have her ask them questions and as soon as they start to answer, she interrupts them.

"I never look back, it distracts from the now." - Edna Mode :edna:

Is there enough to the character to sustain a show of her own, dahling? Not sure. As a supporting character, she's one of a number of great personalities who I would like to see more of.

Ok, is it just me or does this thread stay orange regardless of whether you've read the most recent post or not for anyone else?

That's because it's so active that you read the most recent post, and then there's more, dahling!

lol, no, I mean like even now it's still orange even though I've read the most recent post, which was over 20 minutes ago... and even after I post this and even if I click view my post, it'll still stay orange. It doesn't normally do that. Weird!

Maybe I'm just going crazy.

Umm, no.

You're forgetting that Brad Bird himself voiced Edna -- and I'm sure he's not going to do any non-Pixar Pixar sequel projects for Disney after the Disney/Pixar split. From what I can tell he wants to stay at Pixar and they probably want to keep him.

...because Edna's a lesbian?... :?

Jake- that's true. I wasn't so much asking if it's likely (it's not), but just what people thought of the idea.

Who knows maybe Pixar and Disney will reunite in some form with the new CEO announcement (after all that's what Jobs says he's been waiting on before he picks a new distributor). With Iger being so much like Eisner, though, I don't know. Seems like the board would have thought about that.

NO!! Because she designs clothes and comments on what people are wearing. I don't see how you could make episodes witha character like that w/ out it being like the QUEER EYE

Don't get me wrong, I love Edna, she was hysterical, but not someone to base a tv series on.

I just spoke with E, and she would like for me to relay this message to everyone:

"I appreciate your support, dahlings, I really do. However, I am too consumed designing for the gods, again, to do anything on television. Now that the supers are back in action, I am hard at work creating masterpieces for them to wear."

Interruption from the lab (indistinct voice). Edna responds: "No, dahling, not yellow. I don't want him to look like a lemon. No, no, no....go water the flowers, or something!"

"I'm sorry, dahling. I really do enjoy our little chats, but I must get back to the lab. They are lost without me. Tell my fans that I might be persuaded to make an appearance on television, or the big screen, after I finish my masterpieces. I'm far too busy, right now, dahling. You understand?"

Yelling to the lab: "No, not velvet! That's too much in the past, dahling. I told you, I never look back!"

So, there you have it. Just thought I'd pass the word along.
