US & International Incredibles DVDs have different intro

Post by Little Red Henski »

The Region 1 disc has Brad Bird talking about how to calibrate your home theater using the THX Optimizer and then he goes into the Disc 2 supplements. The other regions have Brad Bird and John Walker talking about the benefits of Widescreen - including the wonderful rolling of the eyes by Brad Bird when John says "Full Screen" followed by Brad muttering contemptiously "Full Screen..." and then noticeable sighing due to his annoyance with Pan & Scan - and then they do a cut into the separate footage where Brad Bird is alone and goes on to discuss the Disc 2 Supplements. So, the openings are different, but the endings are the same. Of course, I believe only Region 1 is getting a Full Screen disc....
Somebody posted that on another forum. :D I guess Disney wants to keep us Americans stupid.

It might just be since the US is apparently the only place getting a full screen version. But still it wouldn't be hard to put different versions on the different sets, or better yet just keep the Full Screen bashing on the Full Screen DVDs. People should know they're buying inferior product!
"Fifteen years from now, when people are talking about 3-D, they will talk about the business before 'Monsters vs. Aliens' and the business after 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' It's the line in the sand." - Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president

Nothing devastating due to its absense but I would have really liked to have seen Brad Bird and John Walker go into the evils of fullscreen.
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.

The international and region 1 DVDs of "Nemo" also had different introductions, since we didn't get the full screen edition for that one either.
