It doesn't work for me either. I see a "File not found" message after I click free download.

I have to say I'm still disappointed by "It's Like That." It's catchy and so I like it... but it's not worthy of having Mariah sing it. At least she shows off a little more of her vocal ability than she has in recent songs. I do like the video, though (or the half I've seen, anyways).

Yeah that's actually where I saw it, but it kept restarting half-way through... maybe I just didn't let it dl all the way. I'd actually heard parts of the song on the radio (which I rarely listen to these days) and didn't even realize that it was her.

I get more and more and more excited for April 16 to come!!! 28 more days!

27 more days til the CD comes out, 7 songs have leaked already so maybe (hopefully) it will be released earlier, if not the album will leak on March 30th when the cd comes out in Japan, which will cause it to be leaked. We Belong Together comes out soon, I'm sooo excited!!!

I used to be a big Mariah fan back in the day. I still have all of her albums starting with "Mariah Carey" up through "Glitter"...that was the last one I could bring myself to spend actual money on (actually, my friend gave that one to me).

While I've never classified Mariah as a quality songwriter (but I do respect anyone who writes their own music...cheesy or not), the thing that is great about Mariah is the amazing "voice."

I always enjoyed her more when she stayed truer to a pop/blues/r&b style (i.e. the early days). I do think, however, that singing like that can take a toll on your voice, which may explain why her last couple albums have been lackluster in the vocal department.

Perhaps "the return of the voice" means she's back...perhaps not. I know that the whole whispery, airy thing ain't cuttin' it. And if she wants to sing back-up to rappers, that's fine with me; but I won't be buying her albums.

I also remember the days when she used to wear clothes!

P.S. I totally thought that was Beyonce on her album cover. It's so airbrushed it doesn't even resemble her. Remember Paula Abdul's video for "Promise of a New Day"? It was all stretched out to make her look thinner...kind of like Mariah's new album. That's pretty ridiculous...she looks great as she is and doesn't need to be airbrushed beyond recognition to look good. Sad.

That's my two cents. :D

i love her new cover! as far as it being "too airbrushed", next time you are surrounded by cd's look around. Everybody does it! and if they don't want it done it happens anyways, they and their investors all want the artist to look good for their cd covers.

As far as the whole Glitter thing. She didn't have much of a part in writing those songs at all. She did add a touch of herself to them but they were primarily writin by other people. Rainbow was originally intended to be the soundtrack for Glitter, and i think that if that were the case the movie would've turned out better. I'm not defending the movie though, the best way to watch that is to expect the worst movie ever, then you realize it isn't all that bad... but it's still not great.

I'm confused as to why she doesn't belt it out anymore. i saw her in concert in the summer of 2003 and she does still have it. the concert was amazing! my mom loved it, and she is anti-mariah bc she thinks she's a skank but my mom wanted to go see it again. we didn't have the chance though :( . anyways she still has it, i just don't understand why she doesn't use it more often.

I'm watching TRL on MTV and she debuted 2 days ago at number 9, yesturday she was number 6, and today she was number 5. She's Movin up! lol

Her Christmas album is a staple of the season. Starting with Butterfly, her music started to become more R&B, and now it's mediocre gangsta pop/rap (or at least that's what makes the radio), unfortunately. I wish she'd flash that amazing voice of her's more often.

I agree with the sentiments expressed in both this posts.

I'd been a Mariah fan since day one. Her voice was tremendous, the songs were great and she was a "natural" beauty. However, when what happened between Tommy happened and when she hooked up with no talent Puffy, it went downhill from there. She started adding crappy rap interludes to her songs. She started whispering almost every.freakin'.song. She kept wearing less and less clothing [which could've been a good thing, if the songs didn't keep getting worse and worse and she didn't surgically enhance herself].

Lest you believe i'm solely trashing Mariah , she's not the only artist whose talent started disappear along with her clothes. Tamia and Chanté Moore are two others.

Despite all these criticisms, to be fair, when Charmbracelet came out, I gave it a listen with an open mind. I promptly deleted all the tracks.

I really don't know what happened to her [life, I guess], but at least I have her early stuff.

Oh, and the other thing I really respected her for was her Club mixes. See, back in the 90s, it was popular for R&B/Pop artist to include a Club/House mix on their single. While other artists would phone it in and just have the remixer add their already recorded vocals to the club beat, Mariah would actually go in and re-do her vocals [most times with David Morales]. Being a club music fan, she'll always get props for doing that from me.

22 more days, I'm sooo excited, anyway, I don't know why international fans get more songs, maybe its because the songs aren't as good a quality as she wants to be released in america, maybe the head honchos think they (international fans) will eat it up or maybe the two extra songs don't mesh well with the rest of the cd. Who knows, only time and Mariah will tell! Also the U.S is extremely fickle it seems, about everything, tastes change everyday and maybe she didn't want to be tied down with these songs.

The Whispering- while not my favorite singing style, it is exactly that, a style. Over the years she has gotten flack from people who were tired of the incessant high notes and belting, while this is what I prefer, I understand the need to have variation, She can still sing folks!

Charmbracelet while not my fave CD is still a good effort, better than Glitter anyway :D

Referring to her image, well if you were a public persona on view for 15 years you'd want to change to, anyway "sex sells" as they say, and at least she has the voice to back it up!
As a side note: she has been covering up more- from the cd cover to her appearances in europe, hopefully she will continue to wear the same in the U.S.

Release Dates:
March 30th, The Emancipation of Mimi- Japan
April 4th, The Emancipation of Mimi- Europe
April 12th, The Emancipation of Mimi- United States

I know I have them too, such a good CD, I can't wait until the 12th to buy it though. I'm kind of disappointed that I did't have enough self control to wait, but temptation was there, and I succumbed to it, oh well, I'm gonna listen to "Stay the Night" now!!! What do you think of the CD? which songs are your favorites?
