I saw it in at the theater as well, and I loved it. I actually thought it was better than Finding Nemo, but I'm sure many of you will dissagree (along with the rest of my family)! But I am going to get it tomorrow! Can't wait!

Jack Jack Attack Disappoints

Post by sealightbreeze »

I was looking so forward to "Jack Jack Attack" who here, was totally disappointed in this short? I was. I thought that it would show more of Jack Jack than what it did. It was totally disappointing to me. I expected to see more of Jack Jack's abilities, and have the entire thing last longer. It was way too short :(

So let me get this straight, you are disappointed that a short was short? Well you haven't got much of a case for false advertising.

I thought it was wonderful. Really wouldn't have worked had it been edited into the film, and yet it really works well as something to watch after the movie's done. Very funny.

P.S. Merged your thread with thread with the existing "The Incredibles" thread. If there becomes enough separate discussion on every aspect of the DVD, then there be need to start splitting, but for now, I think it's best to keep most discussions here.

What an amazing transfer of this film to video. I have a front projection system with an 18 foot screen, and it is just as good if not better than the movie theater. The DTS track is astounding, and rocks the Home Theater System.

I saw this film in the theater six times, and was chomping at the bit this morning to be first in line at Best Buy for my copy. I am really stoked at how it looks and will probably be the first person to ever wear out a DVD from over playing it.

"Jack Jack Attack" is a SHORT!!! Those of you who expected Academy Award material will be disappointed. "Boundin' " is still the better of the two shorts. And hold on to your sides with the outtakes. They are really funny.

Just a few corrections before deathie jumps in...1) It's not really a transfer of film to video, since no film was used in the process. It's direct from digital source to digital source. 2) There is no DTS track, only Dolby Digital 5.1 EX on the Region 1 disc. But yes, it does rock.

And I must disagree with the assessment of "Jack-Jack Attack." If it qualifies for an Oscar the way "Mike's New Car" did, I'd love to see it honored. It has an advantage of "Boundin'" and other Pixar shorts since it doesn't have to establish characters and a story in five minutes. We already know (and appreciate) the characters and even the scenario. That said, without seeing the film, one would probably just be scratching their heads.

I love Pixar.... soooo much. It's easily up there with Bug's Life and Monsters Inc. as one of my favourite Pixar films.

I can tell that honestly I was the first person to buy it at Walmart since I bought it when the store opened.

I was going to wait and buy it later but temptation won me.

I'm just in the middle of the movie (well almost at the end). The movie is GREAT, that can't be denied but I still think Finding Nemo is better; at least it's my favorite.

Obviously I haven't even touched the extras yet. But since I bet they're going to be on the same level as the Finding Nemo one's.... so they'll be great. What I love about the movie is the way Pixar makes their DVDs: extensive, informative but most important of all: fun (something LOTR:EE missed).

PS

Now I'm filling the urge more than ever to buy A Bug's Life Collector's Edition and upgrade to my Gold Collection.... besides it was before my favorite of Pixar (now it's the third after Nemo and Incredibles)

Thanks Luke for the correction. I appreciate that, I was just 'bounding' ahead of myself and got my tongue in front of my eye teeth and couldn't see what I was typing for a bit there.

I know that it is a DDD transfer, but I didn't think a lot of people here would know what that was. I use film as a desciption, not really a source product. It is like the Star Wars pre-quels, they are all DDD.

Thanks again. I stand corrected, and I salute you, and Deathie Mouse can take a seat, because you caught it before he did.

Question: Are any of the trailers for the movie on the DVD? I thought the original teaser was the funniest out of all the Pixar teasers, but the first official trailer was a letdown.

The quality of the transfer was amazing I have a projector and we were amazed by how the quality was great wow like the director was saying at the beginning of the movie wow this really the best quality you can have since it's a direct transfer from the digital source . And great extra features as well !!!
Just Love it !!!!
Lilo: David, I got a new dog!

Back on topic, believe it or not, I won't be getting this for some time. I'm probably going to wait for my birthday for this one as it's not far off so there. :P
