Review the Site for Amazon

Post by Luke »

If you have an Amazon account and would like to submit a review of the site, visit here:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... 0000ABLAA/

As always, I'd love to get feedback and well, our "No Reviews" status is somewhat depressing. I just discovered this today, but it seems pretty interesting.

And who knows, maybe we'll get our Traffic Rank to within six digits. :o

You have a review now! I didn't even know that you could review websites on there.

Thanks, guys. Me neither. They've got a whole lot going on at Amazon that I have no idea about.

Hope you didn't rag on the forum-not-loading and whatnot. Damn Netfirms! ;)

Well, I thought it was only fair to give a well-rounded, unbiased review of the site.
I think my exact words were something to the effect of:

"And you'll demonstrate that you are a TRUE fan of Disney and the site if you can put up with the occassional 40-45 minute delays logging in and/or having to somtimes retype/submit thread replies 25-30 times."

Seriously, no need to thank me. It's the least I could do :D 8)

 rotfl

It's funny because it's true. But it's also sad.

Oh well, only a few more months until we switch webhosts.

Luke,

I threw this together for you over at Amazon. Says it should be up within a few days. Hope it brings you a few more visitors. Glad to help out, and I meant every word of it.
5 Stars - Reviewer: scott29 from Philadelphia, PA

If what you're looking for is heaping piles of information on virtually ALL of Disney's films, UltimateDisney.com should be your first stop. Though geared with a focus on Disney on DVD, the website offers considerably more than just that. (I once spent about an hour scouring through the lists of Disney's Live-Action output from the 70s & 80s; not an activity recommended for the weak of heart.)

DVD freaks will find so much to enjoy here (I wanna KNOW when I can finally own "Aladdin" and "Bambi" in their Platinum incarnations, dammit!) that I expect the website to grow in popularity by leaps and bounds. Just as there will always be a demand for the Disney Classics, there will always be a need for informative and objective resources such as this one. The site is run by a Disney/DVD fan; not an employee. That marks an important distinction for those looking to separate the facts from the flashy marketing jargon.

Cover art, release schedules, extensive reports on special features, a wonderfully candid disdain for all things Pan & Scan, DVD reviews, brand-new press releases, a friendly Discussion Forum, etc., etc. Simply put: there's a whole lot here for the Disneyphile to enjoy.

Enough blather; skip around the site for five minutes and I bet you'll be adding it to the DVD folder of your Favorites file.

And let's get "Song of the South" released on DVD already, ok?

i was on the site earlier and there are only 2 up at this time. I've read that many have reviewed and I wondered why they were not up. My guess is that they have to read them and make sure they are okay to the general public.

Thanks for the review, Scott. Not surprised it's so well-written; you do what you do very well! :)

The reviews take a couple of days to show up, but unless you just spew profanity and specify prices at cheaper e-tailers, I can't think of any reason they wouldn't approve your reviews.

I appreciate the review, but the rank is not based on that. Well, i guess it is indirectly, since someone might stumble upon the site through a review, which would boost traffic and maybe even links to the site, which would in turn boost more traffic. Anyhow, we're still growing all the time, so that is good.
