The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata
Certainly one of the best of the DTV films. The animation is superb and is definitely the highest quality that has been released! Mulan 2 didn't come close in terms of quality, and it doesn't look like Tarzan 2 will either (although T2 is certainly above M2). The story is well thought out and very funny and I feel that this is the only DTV film that deserves to be classed as a classic, if you know what I mean!

Re: Well
I'm pretty close to hating it tho it has its fun parts. If it weren't the one to finish a wonderful era maybe I'd be able to enjoy it as a filler movie between great classics...Owlzindabarn wrote:I saw Home on the Range again last night. Now, how many of you really dislike this movie? Because I get the sense that it's not that popular, but I've never really heard anybody say they hate it.

I saw The Incredibles last night on DVD with a bunch of friends. Greaaaat fun it was, cause one of them (ok, about 3 of them I think) hadn't seen it yet! Man, did they get a big treat that night. XD
Totally needed that boost too cause the same day 2 of my friends and I had gotten a parking violation citation. v.v

Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.

Re: Well
I don't dislike it but I need to see it again to judge. I love the animation style and it was fun but it really isn't high up there with my favourites. There is someone here that doesn't like this movie at all. Take a look at part one of this topic. There may be a few people who complain about it and I can see how they dislike it.Owlzindabarn wrote:I saw Home on the Range again last night. Now, how many of you really dislike this movie? Because I get the sense that it's not that popular, but I've never really heard anybody say they hate it. I personally don't have a problem with it. I just think it came out at an unfortunate time when CGI was becoming too prevalent in Hollywood...cell animation can't compete in the same way. If Home had come out 10 years earlier it would have been the biggest hit.
Anybody think it might achieve a certain cult status as did Emperor's New Groove?
I don't think it'll achieve the same cult status as 'Emperor's New Groove' because most seem to agree that Groove is a better movie. I can't speak for everyone but most people I know agree that they would place Groove well higher on their list of favourites over Range. Range will have the ones who love it the most but I don't know if it could achieve the same cult status as Groove but I'm no expert.

Last Disney Moviies I watched were Bambi and Aladdin:
Let me state that I am REALLY getting sick of Bambi right now. I've seen it about 7 times since we got the DVD. My niece just plays it OOOOOVER and OOOOOVER. Watching it so many times got me to nitpicking too: so it's going back into my vault shortly.
Aladdin I hadn't seen in a long time. I was surprised though, cause I used to love it and it held up very very well. Genie had me
the whole movie. I
Robin Williams (in a manly, platonic kind of way, of course).
Then, I really wanted to watch Alice but somehow the 1st disc got lost/wasn't in the case. so
Home on the Range was like the weakest Disney flick I've ever seen. I tried REALLY hard to enjoy it, but I JUST couldn't. Maybe because they had Roseanne Barr Arnold What'sherface voice one of the animals.

Well with regard to Home on the Range ( I can hear some of you groaning already as you witness me mounting my soapbox once again
) I would just like to point out the pro Home on the Range rant I have just posted here:

Although I've said it all before, and most of you are probably sick of my whining!

Alice in Wonderland
This was the first time I have ever seen Alice In Wonderland and to tell you the truth I found it very weird and not as good as I thought it would be but nonethless it may be worth watching for those who are into fantasy.
Lady and the Tramp
This is yet another Disney movie I have just seen for the first time and it was actually better than I thought! I really enjoyed the character of Tramp. I'm not saying it's the best movie but it is good and definately worth a watch if not yet seen.

(hello all, I'm new
)
In the last 24 hours, I think.....Aladdin I, Aladdin III, Lion King I, the Incredibles. Always hard to choose which ones to watch.
In regards to previous comments:
Pocahantas is a great movie, and must be worthy because the 10th ann. special 2 disc edition is coming in may
..(I collect the special and platinum edition DVDs) ... and I do think the changing of the story contributes to SOME people not liking it.
Home on the range.....well I don't think I'll ever watch that again, once was enough....I was disappointed to say the least.

I just **GASP** plopped in my 1988 Cinderella Black Diamond VHS, and the quality is still tremendous. I cannot wait until the Platinum Edition comes out so I can place my VHS in my vault. I am a sucker for romance and the movie NEVER gets old. It's a little bit off topic, but I also just watched The Notebook- It is now one of my favorite movies and I cryed like a baby watching it!

I just got done watching 101 Dalmatians 2 and Tarzan & Jane. I got them both together at Best Buy for $24.99!!! i thought that was exciting, especially since i didn't have either, lol.
I was surprised by 101 Dalmatians 2's quality. i was expecting way worse, i would think it's one of disney's best DTV sequels! Tarzan & Jane however would be placed in some of the worst, i was very dissapointed. It just makes me want the 101 Dalmatians PE even more and a Tarzan SE too! it also made me a lil more excited for Tarzan II, i hope it a lot better than Tarzan & Jane!

Emporer's New Groove - good to see someone can still make good looney toons cause Warner's sure cant. Hilarious. Kronk has got to be the best supporting character ever.
