Fantasia 2000 - although I had seen every segment at one time or another this was the first time I had watched it straight through. All segments except the soldier one really worked for me. Loved Rapsody in Blue and Pomp and Circumstance. Not quite up to the original, but that is my favorite animated movie. All I can say is thanks to Roy Disney for making it happen. It saddens me to no end that this is probably the last we have seen of this type of movie. I will be missing Fantasia 2006 next year. One of the better making of documentaries, mostly because of many of the non Disney artists and musicians who added their thoughts on why they wanted to be a part of it because of how the original Fantasia affected them.

Thumbs up to Eisner too for green lighting it by agreeing to invest all the profits from the Fantasia video release into this project. But then again thumbs down for deep sixing 2D and Fantasia 2006 with it. Really did a great job in his first decade but overstayed his welcome.

I watched Pocahontas twice yesterday. I've really thought about it, and I came to this one conclusion. The only reason it's seen as unworthy of the Disney name is because of its timing, right after The Lion King. I love this movie and think it's more than worthy of the "classic" title!

That's quite a good theory! I love Pocahontas as the songs and animation are pure gold, as is the story, but I can understand why others hate it, as it does become PC-Hontas in places and changing history isn't going to please some.

Back on topic, the last Disney movies that I saw were Pocahontas on Saturday night (with my UK 2 Disc Special Edition that arrived early in the mail from Play.com ) and Mary Poppins, which proves that long films can have great rewatchability.

Well I see your point, but historians themselves argue about what really happened. And Disney were just using the folklore and the legend that already existed about Pocahontas. So if anyone has a go at Disney for changing the past I feel their arguement is pretty weak.

Anyway I too feel that this movie is often labelled as a "failure" because it didn't match "The Lion King"'s box office figures, but all in all I would say that I prefer Pocahontas. It's not for some as it's not very "kiddy" and is more grown up.

Also a point I don't think is picked out enough, is that this was the first Disney film to be based upon actual real people!

I saw Home on the Range again last night. Now, how many of you really dislike this movie? Because I get the sense that it's not that popular, but I've never really heard anybody say they hate it. I personally don't have a problem with it. I just think it came out at an unfortunate time when CGI was becoming too prevalent in Hollywood...cell animation can't compete in the same way. If Home had come out 10 years earlier it would have been the biggest hit.

Anybody think it might achieve a certain cult status as did Emperor's New Groove?

I saw The Even Stevens movie o Disney Channel. It was a little corny but overall pretty fun. I also saw Snow White which is great!

Sleeping Beauty - Well i've only just got it and i havent seen it since i was about 6 - so er yeh thats 10 years ago which is a long time eh?
Anyway.....the films pure classic a great Disney film!

Oh yes!!! Sleeping Beauty is truly awesome. Not on purpose, all I think of is Sleeping Beauty (and not other Disney movies)!!! I love her and the movie! First, I worked on sand-sculpting Princess Aurora; she's not finished even though the project was due weeks ago. I guess I chose a complicated thing, and I haven't had the chance to go work on it. Also, when I saw "The Wizard of Oz" play rehearsal at school, I just thought how wonderful it would be to make a Sleeping Beauty play. I haven't stopped thinking of what would happen in it and how the stage would be used, costumes, props, how the dragon would be made, how we could make magic (I still can't think of a way to make mops and other stuff to move by themselves), how we could make the story occur in actual times, if the Disney movie should be followed (we would probably have to pay for the rights of it), etc.
Also, whenever I get on EBay to look for Disney stuff, I usually end up looking just for Sleeping Beauty and Little Mermaid stuff.
I also recently bought the soundtrack and I often sing in "I Wonder" and "Once Upon a Dream" any time of the day. I also bought the peasant dress for dolls and tomorrow I will also pick up a Prince Phillip doll I finally won, hopefully.
I'm just so in love I guess.

I just finished watching Springtime with Roo. It's an Easter dvd so I watched it because it's almost Easter. I collect Winnie the Pooh dvds.

Last movie I watched was Bambi. The first time I saw it was with my grandparents and mom back in 1988. Yes, I remember that! When I was a kid, I didn't care about the art. But now, watching it again and being older... I am AMAZED at the talent. I find myself studying the drawings and forgetting about the plot. I love this movie.. and, besides, it *was* the first "Circle of Life" movie. And how the animators timed most of the characters perfectly with the background music is fantastic.

Yesterday,I watched Sleeping Beauty...I still love the scene where Flora and Merriweather fight over the color of Aurora's dress...and later,I watched Snow White.....Today,I was watching The Rescuers Down Under(just bought it)...

I just watched The Parent Trap with Hayley Mills. I laughed at the part when the two twins fight and one of the leaders there has a cake and lifts and then there's no cake. The cake then falls on the leader and the girls look like they're all covered in chocolate.

Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs.
It was such a LONG time ago when I saw this movie! I'm so glad I have it on DVD now! Overall, the movie was great! (of course, I've always loved the Disney classics). I loved the ending the most of course (anywhere with romance eh? )! I give it a 5/5 (the movie). I still haven't gotten around to the extras...

BTW, in the ending scene when she kisses the dwarfs goodbye, did anyone else notice that she only kisses SIX instead of SEVEN? First was Bashful, then Grumpy, then three (I didn't catch it but I know one was Doc), and last was Dopey.

I don't know if this is fact but when I was really young I asked that question to someone and they told me JRR Tolkien was the one who coined the term 'dwarves'. Before him it was dwarfs. Not sure if that was just something someone told me to get rid of me however.
