Tins still *limited* ?

Disney throws around the word "limited" a lot, and I can't help but notice the pictures of the wave 3 tins lacks the 1 of 150,000 stamp. Is this just because it is a promo picture or will wave 3 be "limited" like Snow White is "limited"? With the high auction price of MMILC on eBay, perhaps Disney decided to meet the demand (and make the money) of releasing more of wave 3. So, does anyone know if the wave 3 tins are truly limited releases, or if they will see a larger production size?

Hmm...good question. I suppose we should know when a press release is issued if they're not going to be limited or if it's just missing because it's promo art and/or they haven't decided how many to print yet.

Maybe they have decided to release more given the huge demand on the early volumes (which I've just secured...yay!).
However, given it is promo artwork, and the numbers are presumably pressed in at a later that may be changed...
I'm sure Disney can't be too appy about the amounts of money people are getting for them on the secondary market (eBay, Amazon auctions/zshops etc) (I know I'm not ). Perhaps they will release more to try and get as much money as possible out of them.
But as Luke says, it is all speculation at this point until we hear 'official' word.

I'd be shocked if these were not numbered. By doing so they have created an almost frenzied demand for these Tins that increases with each Wave. I wouldn't be surprised to see these numbered to 175,000 this time around, as the first two Waves have been 150,000 and 125,000 respectively.

Or maybe the trend will continue and these will decrease and only be numbered to 100,000

Whatever the number on the tin (or lack of number if that may be the case), I am getting the tins as soon as possible (that means speaking to my parents every night to remind them to pick them up. They will probably get tired of me calling so they will get them sooner to shut me up).

They are still limited, as it says so on the paper band which is provided on the cover art captures. I think they just haven't decided on the numbers yet.

I guess that they may go upto 200,000 this time. As Loomis says, Disney have seen the demand is there based on the high prices being charged on sites such as E-BAY. They are only selling for such high prices because the demand is there, and Disney will be wanting to exploit this demand for themselves - namely selling more sets.

I also think that the for the first two years releases, Disney US failed to take into account how many non-Americans would be importing the sets for themselves to non-region 1 countries. Hopefully they will have taken these overseas sales into account this year.

Plus, in theory every year there are more and more homes with DVD players - thus more and more potential sales.

It would have made sense (or at least been nice) for Disney to capitalize on this expanding world market, and release them outside of the US too. But sadly, due to the release of both Fables and Everyone Loves in both R2 and R4, it seems as though the majority of overseas (at least Australian and UK) fans will be missing out.

However, as 2099 says more DVD players every year.

I guess in the end though, the Treasures are still a very niche market. Especially the Behind the Scenes, Disneyland, Tomorrowland sets. Disney doesn't really need to print too many of those. But something like Mickey Mouse (the rarest of sets) is an icon, not just for Disney, but globally. Surely eBay prices prove the demand for this is much higher than the supply.
