On a side not, I would LOVE to finally see this movie. THe production values look to die for. Got to love those costumes!

Why does everyone say this is a Jim Carrey movie? Jim Carrey is just the actor in the movie, he's not a producer, director, or writer. That's one of my pet peeves when people talk about comedians and are like, Oh, I love that Ben Stiller movie, or, I don't think that was the best Adam Sandler movie. Hello! These movies are not THEIR movies. I understand people lumping together all their low comedy movies together, movies that have their trademark humor/comedy in them, but you can hardly call Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate of Events Jim Carrey movies.

It's because it's easier to tell what movie you're talking about if you forget the title!Prince Eric wrote:Why does everyone say this is a Jim Carrey movie? Very nice so far. With over an hour's worth of features for half of the disc's contents, we should end up with about two hours' worth. I wonder what exactly interactive Olaf is. The BBFC title makes it seem like a multi-language reel, but the name "interactive Olaf" makes me think of a CGI Olaf that you can make do things (though I doubt this is the case). It's nice to see some easter eggs scattered about, too. This certainly blows away any other Paramount release, though Titanic will undoubtedly tower over it when that title comes in the fall.

Series of Unfortunate Events DVD - April 26th
Is anyone here, other than me, excited about the Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events DVD coming out this Tuesday ? I think it's a good enough movie to add to my DVD collection, the movie wasn't bad at all.

Well there are a couple of reasons why I don't want to see it:
1. Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper gave it two thumbs down. Roger Ebert is my favorite movie reviewer and when he doesn't like something that I haven't seen, I normally don't watch it.
2. It doesn't look very appealing to me.
3. I've read the books. They were okay. Normally, when a movie is made based off a book, the book is almost always far better. So if I can only say "they were okay" to the books, what in the world will I think of the movie?? I'll probably hate it.

1. Don't listen to everything the critics say. Both of them dissed National Treasure and it turned out to be one of my favorite films of the year, while they give rave reviews on crap like Shrek 2.chaychay102royal wrote:Well there are a couple of reasons why I don't want to see it:

2. I didn't care to see it either at first but in the end I quite liked it!
3. I liked the books but I didn't love the books like most people did! However I did find them amusing. To tell you the truth this was one of the few times I think a movie was better than the book.

I'll probably get it Tuesday, if not, very soon afterwards. And I'm getting the 2-Disc version as the extras look great. Oh, and to ChayChay, I think you'll probably like it, my mom didn't really like the books, but she thought the movie was better. Carrey is hilarious, you'd have to not blink to see every one of his jokes. Oh, and I often dissagree with Ebert, he often gives films that deserve better scores lower ones, Lemony Snicket is a prime example. So, just try it and see what you think.
