I think my answer for this has changed..somewhat.

I buy Disney DVDs because...
1.) they're popular
2.) people like them
3.) we like them
4.)if it'll go OOP and it's 2-Disc. ;)

I didn't buy Snow White when it first came out because...i didn't like it as much. And then i realized how much people were willing to pay for it..because it's so rare! So i scooped it up this month (or last month) for $27.50..I also bought it because it's Platinum Edition (I know its just a label...but heck, I have the complete Platinum line and Gift sets now!). :)

I can be giving when it comes to letting people watch our DVDs so I sometimes buy some Disney DVDs for others (to watch) but it's still considered OURS! (nice huh? :P) Usually when I'm buying DVDs, I'm thinking of the future future and how great the collection will look! 8)

but I won't waste money on a DVD I have never heard of or its reviews
or if the packaging is bad (i.e.: DUMBO)!

buying disney movies

I buy them if they are truly good Disney movies. I won't buy one just because it is Disney. If I did, I wouldn't be able to pay for tuition!!!

I have just about every single animated disney movie there is on dvd. The ones I dont have I will get my hands on one of these days. I allways buy them even if I havent seen them or not because I know they will grow on me eventually... kinda like listening to a song for the first time that you dont like at first but you end up loving down the road... I guess

Thats about all I spend my money on these days, DVD's and Video Games 8)

I have all the animated features on dvd now, except for Pocahontas and Cinderella, which are coming. I bought them all because I wanted them all. Do I watch them all? Well, I have my favorites is all I can say. There are really very few features that I don't care for. I think I've never been able to get all the way through Oliver and Company for some reason. It's not bad...it's just not for me. The 40s "package" films are low on my list of favorites as well, including Fantasia! I also have most of the cheapquels and I hate them! Especially Hunchback 2! I'm trying to give away "Tarzan & Jane..." and "Mickey's House of Villains" was the worst thing I've ever seen. At this point I'm pretty much staying away from the cheapquels for good. They don't tell stories...they're so obviously just trying to cash in on the popularity of their superior originals. Or worse, they're just 3 edited episodes of failed tv series, like T&J, Cinderella 2, Beauty & the Beast III, Atlantis Returns...watching those videos makes you understand why those shows never made it as regular series. They're not very good...

But I am very proud of my 42 (so far) animated features. I'm almost sorry that my collection is nearly complete. There's nothing left to buy!!

The only member (so far) that I was watching accomplish this goal was noneother than UD's very own AARON (awallaceunc)...mainly because he bought lots of DVDs and told us about it in the DVD Thread 2005 :P! :D

How is that impossible? If I want to find them all, they're stacked on a shelf right across from my bed!
