the reason I want to see the titles I mentioned is because the Platinum line seems to be made of the movies that defined the Disney pantheon of animated classics, sure some SE's are superior but they still don't have the "platinum" name in it (I'm sorry I'm vain

)
Here is my new list of movies I want to see in the Platinum line:
Dumbo - one of Walt's first 5, it deserves the respect.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - there is a reason why there are hordes of Pooh fans out there.
The Rescuers - Given that someone posted earlier that this was a box office success, it deserves to be the film to represent the post-Walt dark ages before the renaissance. it should be packed with both the first and the sequel, because I think both were great.
Pocahontas - This movie was a huge turning point for Disney in that it had historical characters and not to mention one of the most well-done scores in the entire Disney canon.
Mulan - hugely underrated, Mulan showed that Disney could tackle oriental legends just as well as western ones.
Lilo and Stitch - the last great hit of the animation studios and deserves to be deemed a 'calssic'
titles I feel deserves to be Platinum but not as much as the ones mentioned above:
Tarzan - technologically innovative and it's Tarzan...'nuff said
Alice in Wonderland - not the best Disney-era classic but since Sleeping Beauty is there, why not?
films I feel should NOT be part of the Platinum line:
Toy Story - not only was it not done by Disney but it was CG, the Platinum line are only for completely traditional animation.
The Song of the South - great movie but it isn't completely animated. live action/animated films deserve a line of their own as does CG.
and in defense of the films which are part of the Platinum line but are deemed unworthy by posters above...
101 Dalmatians - sure Walt didn't like the way it was done but it was a huge financial success (the primary criteria for the original 10 platinums) that spawned many a sequel and even live action versions.
Cinderella - also a box-office hit, I don't see how anyone could even have the balls to disrespect this film, it is a timeless tale that brought in the 2nd golden age of Disney animation.
Lady and the Tramp - this was a huge financial success in its time and was the first to feature dogs in a love story and was also the first to be featured (at the time) a more recent timeline it is also one of the company's more memorable love stories.
The Lion King - "highest grossing traditionally animated film of all time"....ponder on that for a moment.
Th Jungle Book - not only was it Walt's last animated film but it was also a huge box-office success in its time (again, the primary criteria for the original 10 platinums)
