Well, if it helps any, I probably won't be able to make it either.poco wrote: sadly, I will miss it =(
Actually, knowing that I WON'T be there is probably an incentive for more people to come.
Let's test this theory

Having been a Sydney-sider all my life, I'm not sure there IS a Wallaby Way in Sydney...MickeyMouseboy wrote:P. ShermanLoomis wrote: So nice you said it twice.

How about you?
There are 2 Wallaby Closes, and a Wallaby Grove...but no Way that I'm aware of.
Actually there was an interesting article in the local paper about the Pixar team and their first visit to Sydney (having animated it without actually going there).
I'll see if I can dig it up.
So are you actually going away MMB?

we are looking for his lost son chico
Australia (and the UK) haven't had Finding Nemo open yet MMB. We don't get the joke.
Well, I wouldn't get it anyway, even if it had opened, as I'm waiting for the DVD. But you get the point.

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

We get Finding Nemo on the 10th October
Just looked it up, but I thought it was October due to the console game coming out at the start of October.
I'm sure the arrival of the R1 DVD in UK owners hands a week or two later (we can often get R1 DVDs early in the UK, sometimes a month early if we're willing to pay a little over the odds) will affect Cinema takings so some extent (but probably only to a small percentage given this will be a popular film).
Generally we don't go to the Cinema at all. I'm always amazed when my friends critisise me for buying a DVD 'blind' - but buying a DVD is cheaper than going to the cinema! Plus in theory I can sell a DVD on if I don't like it (I say in theory because I never do!).
Last time I saw a film at the cinema over here that had opened in the US first (Scream 3 - it really was that long ago) the picture quality was terrible, as we get the prints after the other countries have run them through their projectors a few thousand times. That said, the picture quality of The Two Towers was pretty poor too when we saw that - and that was a print specially made for the UK.
Sure, the Cinema is bigger and sometimes it's better to experience a movie as part of a crowd (but in my experience this is becoming less and less desirable as people become more and more inconsiderate). I cannot see the appeal of UK cinemas at all. Late, poor quality films. Drunken audience members. Over inflated prices.
Oh, I see this discussion is about chats. I'd better bring it back onto topic. I think we will have to arrange a seperate chat for European members. The time difference is just too great.
Dunno where this leaves Loomy though. He's out on his own in both time zones
