Do you read the Bible?

Nowhere does the Bible say that anyone goes to hell just for being gay. It does say that homosexuality is a sin but there is a very big difference in those two. Unfortunately, many people fail to recognize that distinction.

No, it doesn't say that either. The word "homosexual" does not appear at all in the bible. Certain people have interpreted the many translations of specific passages to be anti-gay, but scholars disagree on the original meaning.

No, it doesn't say that either. The word "homosexual" does not appear at all in the bible. Certain people have interpreted the many translations of specific passages to be anti-gay, but scholars disagree on the original meaning.

I didn't mean to imply that the word itself is found in any specific English translation. Instead the phrasing is along the lines of "man lie with another man" or "man lust after man," "men with each other," etc.

So with your logic, as long as you don't tell them they are bad (which is how you feel), you think that is respect? That might be polite, but it's far from respect. You're dancing around the issue. It is arrogant for anyone to assume they know who is going to hell and who is not.

But you only seem interested in how you are dotting the I. Not everybody interprets the Bible the same way as you do. You need to preface what you say with: "I believe", instead of acting as the authority. It is respectful to welcome other people's interpretations as valid, not by refraining from telling them you think they are bad. That is condescending.

Ok,I think this is enough, we´re way out about the main reason of this post--this is most about how we understand the bible--which is if we read the bible or not.

Anyway, discusing about something than don´t really matter it´s only losing the time.
