Hello-
Does anyone know where to obtain the CD recording of Alan Menkens 1997 New Amsterdam premiere King David or have mp3s of the music? I own the CD but it got extremely scratched and will no longer play. On Ebay the CD fetches insane prices...ended at just over $150 today. If anyone has any suggestion please share.
Thanks!
Chris

I think there's software called EAC or something like that, that rereads the disc several times sector by sector, that sometimes lets you recover damaged discs. Also if the disc is unrecoverable still and it's urreplazable
, if the scratches are on the reading side and haven't reached and damaged the data side (which is the label side), maybe you could resurface it (yourself with an amateur gizmo/liquid or profesionally) as a last resort (and maybe retrying with EAC then) to see if it's salvageable.
Here's hoping you recover your music in some way

Re: King David
Alan Menken and Tim Rice are planning a revival of King David in London.

We're planning to develop it in London in a very transformed way. It was a big concert piece and now we're looking to have it stripped down to its rock roots.
