Firstly, welcome to the forum, antonio144. :D

I'm sure there are people more knowledgable than I who could answer this question, but I'll have a crack at it.

Aladdin is meant to be the next 'Platinum' as far as we know ( See thisarticle). We will supposedly see 2 per year after that (unless you live in Australia, and they think you don't deserve DVDs like the rest of the world...sorry, I'm a little bitter :D).

As to the name of the sets, 'Platinum'/'SE', I'm not sure if I've got this right but:
There was some talk on the forum that the Platinum name was going to be discontinued, as it was named in relation to the 'Gold Collection', which is not being used anymore. Everything is being slapped with a 'Special Edition' tag, including other lines (such as Vault Disney).

But sometimes the listing will also say Special Edition, but actually be Platinum (as was the case with Lion King).

I'm confused, how about you?

Yes, welcome to the forums. Yes, Aladdin will be a Platinum Edition, though it will probably say both Platinum and Special on the cover...and it will only be referred to as a Special Edition in commercials and the website.
