If you're a fan of movies and have a DVD collection, you should have it. If you're a fan of animation, you NEED to have it. It's one of the best animated films ever made, and the Special Edition disc is very nice.

If you've never seen it, you may wonder why you've hardly ever even heard about what we're all calling such a great movie. The marketing was horrible, and most people didn't even know it was in theaters. No one saw it because most people didn't know what it was. Those who were following animation closely at the time had been anticipating its release for years... and were not disappointed in general.

I was impressed while walking through Disney's animation studio a couple of years ago at how many animators had sculptures or toys of some kind of the Iron Giant on their desks. It's the kind of movie every animator dreams of working on. So, get it... it's great.

it's a must have for all animation fans! It's far superior from the recent Disney productions and even at Disney's university CALARTS, it the FiRTs movie you study (that's a proof of quality isn't it?)!

i love this movie.

Went back last night and got it along with Bambi.

Plan on watching it tonight for sure!

Sounds like a great film. To bad it did so poorly in theaters!

Looks like I found a lost treasure!

I can't believe I still never saw it. Warner Bros sure has done a great job keeping this supposed masterpiece away from the general audience. After the Incredibles, this dvd will be a blind buy for me. for sure :)

There's a joke in the animation industry that goes something like this:

Q: How can we rid the world of HIV?
A: Get Warner Bros. to promote it.

Iron Giant is a wonderful little film. It's got a lot of heart and soul. If you are a fan of fantasy or scifi, or just of animation, you're probably going to like it alot.

Definitely one of my favorite all time films.

yes agree too, this movie knew how to mix great animation and technique, with great characters and plot.

By the way, when you watch Iron Giant, look for a cameo of two famous Disney animators (that also lent their voices to their likenesses). If you want a hint, you can also see them in Brad Bird's other film. . . ;)

I thought that Iron Giant was a fun movie. Very cute, and full of warm morals, and values. You just don't see that anymore.
