Disney wouldn't do that, its not profitable enough.deathie mouse wrote:Maybe Pixar could have helped with the CGI...
Mmmm... if they made Dumbo II as long as Dumbo, they both could fit in a single disc

There are two possible reasons. The most commonly stated is "Story Problems".
However, Dumbo II was to be CGI with a handdrawn look (as was Bambi II originally). It appears Disney just can't get satisfactory results.
Perhaps Dumbo II will be ressurected as technology improves.

orestes.
I don't like it when Disney makes any sequels to their older movies like 'Cinderella' or 'Peter Pan' but I always wanted to see a sequel to Dumbo but I think it would be best if they did it traditionally animated with the same style as the original. I would say same technology but I think I'm stretching my wishes there.
It has definitely been shelved. I've heard many statements about the "why" of this. Reasons include CGI problems, story problems, budget cut backs... I suspect that it has more to do with the fact that Dumbo didn't move off the shelves as quickly as they had hoped, so the demand for a sequel probably where they wanted it to be.
