DaveWadding wrote:*waves* I was just going to post in this topic too...way to beat me to it. but yeah, mine has velcro.
(Shaking my fist at you...furiously!) :x

It doesn't make any sense why they would give some velcro and some not. My case won't stay shut... Congrats on your good luck DaveWadding!

In other news, I am now halfway thru Bambi (I think) and like a Big Mac, "I'm lovin' it!".

Edit: I just finished! Gotta say, I enjoyed it very much so. :D

I think he did that himself just like I did. It does not look like the same type of velcro Disney uses for their other types od DVD's.

That blob of goop thing is really annoying. I can't believe they would be so cheap. "Let's save two cents per DVD by not putting a Velcro fastener on it."
Mine has the velcro on it

I may try down the street tomorrow. There's a store that focuses on sewing materials, they should have velcro.

Bambi GWP

Post by DVDFreak »

Hey everyone,

Just got the Bambi DVD today, but I didn't get the Thumper plush that everyone is talking about. But I did get something different.

Bambi memory card game! Basically its a box of 24 cards (12 have duplicates) and you face them down and try to pick 2 with the same pic. There are 12 different scenes from the movie on the cards which show them in framed portrait. They're bigger than playing cards and they're glossy. The back of the cards have the "Bambi 2 disc special edition" logo on a black background. The cards come in a black box.

I could have went to Best Buy/Future Shop to get the Thumper GWP but I like these cards a lot better!

I went out to get Bambi today, and I was disappointed when I discovered the sticky glob. I'm glad to see I'm not alone.
I can't wait to watch the movie, as I've never seen Bambi before, but I don't yet know when I'm going to get to.

I haven't really had time to delve through all of the bonus material, but I was very impressed with the video and audio quality. I can't compare it to the VHS version since I haven't seen that in over 10 years.

I got my copy from Walmart, and the case had the velcro stuff on it. It's not really velcro though, since it isn't the same texture as normal velcro and it sorta snaps together.

Velcro or not, I don't really give a toss as I usually don't keep the cardboard cover half the time anyway. Just got my copy and right now I'm in the midst of digging out the chips, the sodas and a bit of "medicine" ( I suppose you can't mention herbal on this site...pretend I did'nt say that) and am about five minutes away from enjoying the set from beginning to end....I can hardly WAIT! Letcha guys know what I think in a few hours, but I really REALLY think I'm gonna enjoy the hell outta this!

Mine had the Velcro on it I did not even think about it. It for sure did not have glue. But I got 3 copes for myself so they may not all have Velcro not sure ?

Well someone said it looks way better than the old Vhs tapes, that is because they work hard to clean out all the dirt and dust ect. out of they old reel, plus gave it a richer looking picture. I mean they spend like 9,600 hours on this :) So it would look a lot better :) Also I am willing to bet the new Vhs edition of Bambi looks a lot better than the 2 older Vhs copies :)

As for the Thumper plush toy I think you need to get it at Best Buy. I got one coming from Fye for a friend in mine, if I get a new toy I am keeping it though :) I know fye is sending me a toy but not sure if its one I allready have or what ?

I order one from Disney Direct and got the movie plus 4 Litho's one of Flower, one of Bambi and Flower, one of Bambi and Faline and one of Thumper. Also I got 2 plush animals one of Flower and one of Bambi. Plus a Bambi Special Edition Pin with a Butterfly on Bambi's Tail :)

Plus if you scroll up you will see that I got my Dvd a day early. So I got all this the day before it came out on Dvd. So I was very happy. I might take my Flower Plush Animal to an animal rights meeting about pet overpopulation. I can't wait to frame my 2 Flower Litho's. Plus I allready have a Flower sketch drawing that I got in Disney World framed ( I just have not put it up yet )
