well i cant wait to see Stitch the Movie sine Stitch is one of my favorite Disney chracters.

More news on Stitch from Animated Movies

Directors Tony Craig (House of Mouse, Timon & Pumbaa) and Robert Gannazay (Mickey Mouse Works, Cats Don't Dance) recently discussed the upcoming 64-minute film with Animation Magazine. "This new chapter is a comedy and action driven piece that's a strong complement to the original movie," says Gannazay. "It also serves as the perfect bridge to the upcoming TV series, The Adventures of Lilo and Stitch [which premieres this fall on ABC.] It really establishes the concept for the series and puts the players in place." The scripting for this new adventure began November of 2001 and the Disney TV animation team started production in March of 2002. "The storyline for the sequel was actually developed during the production of the original film," adds Gannaway. "Several groups pitched the film and the series, but virtually all of the pitches incorporated some form of the concept that Dr. Jumba had created more experiments." Being faithful to the original 2002 hit movie was a goal for the team. All key members of the original voice cast are back on this project, and a lot of attention was paid to get the look right for the sequel. "From an artistic perspecgive, the biggest challenge was getting the crew up to speed in painting with a watercolor style, and matching Chris Sanders' original design style for the experiments," explains Tony Craig. "Having outstanding character stylists like Greg Guler and Jose Zelaya helped make that a smooth transition." Although the film offers a mix of traditional and computer-generated animation, Craig says the core audience will be too wrapped up in the story to care about which tools were used to bring it to life. "We're quite proud of the heart of the film--especially the endearing characters and the adventure they undertake--keep you from noticing the technology used to make it."

I am already so "wrapped up in the storyline" that I couldn't care if it was in 2D, 3D, or a mix of animation.

This movie looks really bad.

It comes out this month, right? I forgot that Lizzie was out yesterday when I walked into Wal-Mart. It was quite the surprise.

I didn't get it though, isn't that sad

but I got two other DVDs, Love Bug and Parent Trap. Except they are going to be for Christmas, my mom got them.

But that's the way I looked.

The dreaded Disney sequel curse strikes again. If you're not familiar with this common phenomenon, it's the ongoing problem that nearly every straight-to-video Disney sequel suffers from; namely, the movie stinks. And although Stitch! The Movie tries to up the ante in the comedy department, it falls horribly flat with its abysmal plot and stale dialogue.

...Stitch! The Movie is a bad film. The plot is dreadful, and the dialogue is at times atrocious. That coupled with the incredibly short runtime of less than 60 minutes, you just can't help but be disappointed at this Disney sequel. Given the great opportunity to expand on this wonderful story, it appears that Disney has dropped the ball, or perhaps just didn't care. If your child really liked Lilo & Stitch, they'll probably love this movie just as much, but if you're looking for a great follow up to the loveable first film, don't look here. Skip It

You mean... no, you can't be serious.... Direct to Video sequels AREN'T as good as the original, do not have the same artists, actors, nor the quality?!?!

Actually, I've only liked the sequels that went to theater, and that includes live action. I love Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again, Shaggy D.A., and Herbie Rides Again.

I'm sure Stitch will be good. Maybe not as good as the original script wise and certainly not as good as the original animation wise (it was made of a budget after all) but I'm confident it will be more enteraining than people are expecting.

Wasn't that review kind of contradictory? It said that if your kids love the first film, they'll like this one. But it also said that if you're looking for a good follow-up to the first, avoid this one. Does that make any sense?

No it doesn't make sense, but when are reviews suppose to make sense? I think I'll just borrow this from my friends when they get it and decide how I like it afterwards. I thought that the trailer looked horrid, though.

Take heart, all of the original voice talent returned for this one, except (I think) Jason Scott Lee. Nobody can grunt and do "Stitch-Speak" like Chris Sanders

Yup...he was David. And they do go out in Stitch!, but Nani's still "not ready" for a relationship. While they're out on their "date," Stitch hotwires Jumba's spaceship and takes Lilo on an intergalactic joyride.

Which one of the sisters do YOU think had a better time?

I just have a problems with the fact that when you look at good sequels, you see that the sequel not only brings back the good parts of the original, but it tries (and sometime succeeds) to outdo and improve on the original. Disney's direct-to-video sequels make ZERO attempt to do this. To say that the sequels are in anyway made at a level equal to the original is just insulting. All they make are cheap, bad films that are totally reliant on the original film and its characters and offer nothing new that is of much quality.

Okay, I'm REALLY glad David is back in it. But bad Nani for not liking him!!!
