I got a copy coming in from Fye.com that I got for this friend of mine. When you order from fye you get a plush toy. I kinda hope its Thumper since I don't have as much of him as I do Flower and Bambi. But of course anything with Flower would always be great
As long as it's not the Flower plush toy I allready got from Disney Direct, if it is it shall make a nice gift

I went and bought it this morning. It's a good film with top notch animation, it was my first viewing of the film and it wasn't so bad. I did not expect much from this film yet I wasn't diappointed. A bit short but I think it felt longer. The lost of Bambi's mom wasn't such a tragedy for me. I have to be honest though, when Bambi started looking for her I felt sorry for him but that's about it. Some people were saying it was the saddest moment in any nimated film but it really wasn't. Every single review of Bambi mentioned her death and I thought it was going to be really sad.
I haven't seen any of the bonus features yet, maybe by the end of the weekend. Great little film, and it makes a great addition to my DVD collection. It was worth it.

From what I've read (haven't and probably won't be buying it), does this thing not even have a commentary? That's a pretty big step down from the 2 commentaries on Aladdin, and 1 each on the Beauty & the Beast, Lion King and Snow White Platinum Editions. I have to say, the non-kiddie extras on these discs are getting steadily worse.
here is Luke's review on the commentary.TM2-Megatron wrote:From what I've read (haven't and probably won't be buying it), does this thing not even have a commentary? "Inside Walt's Story Meetings" is a unique new bonus feature which is presented in lieu of an audio commentary. You still get nearly the entire film onscreen for the 70-minute duration of the extra, but it is accompanied by concept art and production documents from time-to-time. The audio is a re-enactment of the creative meetings that Walt and his filmmakers held throughout the production of Bambi. Those conferences were thoroughly transcribed, and they now come to life in the readings. The comments just about always pertain to what's on screen, and the feature enables you to appreciate all that went into Bambi, and how much of Walt and company's visions over the years made it into the final film exactly as discussed.
here if my picture, i took this picture really fast outside, i will take a better one later on.

there is something in place of an audio commentary,is a whole lot better a think. I have not watched it yet,but i heard about it. You see most of the movie, but sometimes there is a split screne, or small window with picture and/or its edited with clips from other cartoons. The audio are people acting meetings that walt had with the producers and those involved with Bambi 60 years ago. There is even a person who sounds like Walt Disney. Watching this will help you see how these cartoon shorts and cartoon films inspired Bambi. Plus you see artwork during the film.
Its different, new, and unlike something that has been seen before. So to me it is by no means a step down by not having a normal audio commentary
Its a step up
Of course I would have liked to have a normal audio commentary as well as this one, but oh well
As long as I see Flower on Dvd and get to cuddle with him I am so happy

If you want to see my review on Amazon go to that link and look for the title Flowers Friend. I did not talk about mothers death. I basically said it does not suger-coat the poison and stuff. There was a pheasants who gots shot, and most likely many other animals that died that we did not see, plus they lived in fear so I just kinda got that across in my review. Later I will take a picture of everything I got in my Dvd that I ordered from DisneyDirect.

I haven't watched the movie yet...but I'm a bit disappointed that the Slipcover doesn't have velcro to keep it shut like the rest of them. The little glue spot wears off to quickly. I called Disney thinking mine somehow lost its velcro...but apparently they all came like this.
Thanks to all that offered to help with my Avatar...Starion, RJKD23 and cj!
yea, but another Forum member (DaveWadding) said he got his with the velcro!yanya wrote:I haven't watched the movie yet...but I'm a bit disappointed that the Slipcover doesn't have velcro to keep it shut like the rest of them. it's okay...the glue spot pisses me off!
