Lion King Trilogy R2

Post by Ciaobelli »

I'm thinking of getting this, could someone who has it please tell me about it. How is it? how are the dvds, the packaging, the features and all that.

THanks

The Lion King is identical to the US version except it does not have the Enchanted Home thetre mix in 5.1 but does have DTS.

TLK 1 1/2 Is the same but does not have the DTS

TLK 2 also has identical bonus features but are all on 1 disc instead of 2 like the US.

They come in 3 individual amaray cases which are within the card trilogy box!

hope this helps. BTW i am talking about the UK version here!

thanks alot!

is the box like the Ultimate Toy Box one? (plastic cover and all that)
would you reccomend it over the R1 version, considering that I am a sucker for cool packaging.
Any good reviews anywhere, pics and stuff. A good place to buy? Are bootlegs common for this since I am looking on ebay.

thanks

Well as far as the reviews go this is the amazon one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000296H38/qid=1109449674/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_11_2/202-3976560-5259060

The discs inside the trilogy are identical to the single editions so you could also just look at the reviews for:

The Lion King: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000AOWLW/qid=1109449802/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_27_1/202-3976560-5259060

The Lion King 2: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001XLYBK/qid=1109449830/sr=2-3/ref=sr_2_11_3/202-3976560-5259060

The Lion King 3: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000163X1G/qid=1109449855/sr=1-4/ref=sr_1_11_4/202-3976560-5259060

I'm not really sure if it's similar to the Toy box one, The cases that the dvds are in are the standard DVD amaray cases. There are obviously 3 of those and The actual box that they are in is made of card. The gold on the box is shiny though.

Here is a pic i grabbed from ebay:Image

No, it doesn't have an outer slipcover. The only one that does is the PLAY exclusive trilogy (Play do not ship to the US)

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I like the R2 cover considering (surprise) it's more artsy, but for once I like our fun, colorful cover...

dang man. The R2 looks nicer than the R1 trilogy!
Does anyone else have a real picture? Because I'm confused
On Play.com, they're showing two images, but the EBAY picture shows one..
a lil help, please? :)

The reason the play one is different is because Play have an exclusive trilogy cover that is not available anywhere else!

The Play version has a transparent slipcover (live on the Ultimate Toyboy) which is screen printed. When the cover is over the case, it creates the image.

Hello,

I wasnt the one w/ the slipcover, and Amazon doesn't have it. So I'm trying to find out a way to have it sent to the US.

Any suggestions?

The only thing I can suggest is that you get someone who lives in the UK to order it from play for you. Then when it arrives to post it to you, and then you refund that person.

I would be willing to do this as long as you sent the money in advance and paid the postage charges in full!

Would you be able to find out how much the whole thing would be?
Is there any way for me to make sure I don't lose the money? I'm not saying you would just take my cash, but if you do would paypal refund?

thanks

Thanks andy, but I want to get the UK one for the packaging.

So are the R2 features the same as the R1 even though I'm missing 1 disc? thanks
