Toy Story DVDs

Post by mr jinx »

Can anyone tell me if and when the Toy Story movies will be rereleased on DVD? Also, if the rerelease date is far off, can someone tell me where I could get these DVDs at a reasonable price now?

Thanks in advance.

no word on when they will be re-released on DVD again, could be next year, could be longer than that, who knows?

and 2nd, to buy it, you may want to consider eBay or contact every video store in your town, someone is bound to have atleast one copy.

i was able to find it a few days ago in a video rental store that also sells DVDs, it was brand new factory sealed, cost $30.00 but i did find by contact every video store in my town, this was the only place that had it.

major chain stores like Best Buy and Walmart definatly won't have it

good luck.

Ebay has lots: Toy Story 1

Toy Story 2

Toy Story 2-pack

The Ultimate Toy Box (3-disc set)

Just be careful alot of them are imports or bootleg's. Check their feedback and make sure others are happy with them. I think I payed around $28.00 apiece for them factory sealed.

GOOD LUCK! :)

You can find reasonable prices on Amazon Marketplace. Make sure you're getting the real deal, though.

Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Toy Story 2-Pack
The Ultimate Toy Box

From the moratorium policy, these should be out of print until 2008, but there's been rumors of a Toy Story 10th Anniversary Edition.

There was rumor of a 10th anniversary release of Toy Story next year. Otherwise, it probably won't be until at least 2008 before they're released again. As for buying them online, you've got to be careful. I got the Ultimate Toy Box off half.com. The guy had nearly 1000 reviews, only four of them were negative, but he lied in the answered questions and description and sent me a bootleg...hopefully you won't have problems, though.

By the way, can anyone tell me if the Toy Story 1/2 2-disc set or the individual Toy Story 2 DVD has an audio commentary? The TS2's audio commentary was replaced on my disc with a Japanese language track...

Nope. The commentaries are only on the Ultimate Toy Box. Which of course is a must, particularly for a PixarFan! :)

Hello James!

I've combined your question with an existing thread that already existed, which asked the same question.

It would appear that at one event, hints were dropped to a 10th Anniversary release of Toy Story. Sadly, we don't know if this will be just the first film, both films or the Toy Box. We also don't know if all new supplements would be included. :(

Toy Story

I recommend looking for that 3-pack which included the 2 Toy Story movies and A Bug's Life. If you can find that on ebay or elsewhere it's less likely to be a fake because the bootleggers would have to go through an awful lot of trouble to fake those boxes the disks come in LOL. As a general rule, the bootleggers really don't get into counterfeiting paper boxes; only the artwork that slips into the dvd sleeve.

You can find Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in lots of places!!
Try www.123pricecheck.com to find the best deal! :)

Also im guessing that when Toy Story 3 comes out i've got a feeling they may re-release them then. Or maybe we will have to wait since they say theres going to be a TS4 so perhaps they will get released all together? :)

IF IT IS SEALED, make sure it has the BUENA VISTA stamp on it.
There are people out there who can make Seal labels and shrink wrap their item to make it look new even if it is a bootleg.
I know, because that happened to me. But EBAY & PAYPAL rightfully returned the money to me.

You should also ask what languages/subtitles the movie can play.
Because any mention of "thai", "mandarin" or asian language, it's sure to be a bootleg.

Funny you should mention that, the person responded back with this message:
Taking a second look at the set, it does not have the BV markings on the outer wrap like some of the other Disney movies; but I also checked my Aladdin and Lion King collectors sets and they don't have it either, and they were purchased from bricks-and-mortar stores.

Anyway you can post a picture of the item he is selling?

I've merged your thread with a pretty recent topic on the matter. It contains pretty much the best answer we have for now. Toy Story 3 is supposed to be coming in 2008 in its currently-planned state, which is when the moratorium on the first two movies would end. I don't think a Toy Story 10th Anniversary Edition will be coming before the year's end, but stranger things have happened!

 i forgot to respond to this.
Anyways, Big Worms if you decide to get it still...(if its available...), then yes, that's a REAL Ultimate Toy Box. (looks the same as mine)

It's a clear slipcover of Jesse, Woody, and Buzz that goes over a silver box to hold the DVDs.

Disney Lover, I think they'll release the ToyStory DVDs again after TS3 comes out. :) ugh, that TS3 idea. :p
They'll probably make it into a trilogy! "because great movies come in threes!"
