The French Sleeping Beauty is yumtastic... so is this BatB cover.

Hrm... don't like the Japanese LD SB cover, though. Looks really cheesy (though the U.S. DVD cover looked pretty bad too). French cover gets my vote (again)!
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.

I don't think it's fair to generalise every American.. I think it all has to do with preferences.. Perhaps, just maybe, could it be that most of the American public enjoys seeing more character and less fancy art?
You're right that's not fair to say "Americians" in general just as in every other subject involving a peculiar people and/or a peculiar country.

But, subjectively, we can see in general that American taste in term of art is not really reputed to be pretty worldwilde and you can verify that in different areas.
But it doesn't mean that some Americans won't like the French or European covers, but I'm sure if you sell in the US the Sleeping Beauty or Beauty And The Beast DVDs with the French artwork, it will sell less than the actual region 1 covers among "not-Disney-initiated people"

But again, now for the covers, it seems like it's the other way 'round. Because now, either in France or Europe, in many cases, we have the same covers as the region 1's or, sometimes covers that are really american-like covers (in term of characters, colors, etc) but not as nice as the region 1's, Bambi being the 1st example crossing my mind for the lattest.
And this discussion is just for the 2-Dsic Special Editions sets because for the single disc releases, the covers are jsut the same internationally, so the same in France/Europe than in the US.

This version also had NO special features whatsoever. Not even a trailer.
The only thing shocking about that cover is it doesn't mention Chris Lee. How can anyone ignore one of cinema's greatest thespians? :?

I am American, so I am not saying it as some biased reason. It is what I see. We, as fans, are not the majority.

I'll only correct what I said by saying "The AVERAGE American".

I think you need to reread my post. I was pretty clear on which cover was which.
