Today I watched Sleeping Beauty!!! :)

Post by Sailor Eric »

:) I had been wanting to watch it again all this week and I was going to on Saturday, but I thought it'd be cool if I waited to watch it on Sunday in my dad's home theater. So today, Sunday, I asked my dad if he wanted to watch it, he said only if my mom wanted to, and she said yes, so we did!!!

It was fun!!! I almost cried in the end, like always... LOL

My father hadn't seen it in a long time, he didn't even remember the fairies!!! However, he did whistled the music. When we paused to get dinner, he was whistling... we had just seen the first part of the forest scene.

I'm dying to see the Sleeping Beauty ballet, I just love the score so much that I want to hear the original while watching the ballet!!!!

It's funny you say that because I just watched it today, too. I felt like watching a DVD I hadn't seen in a while, so I picked Sleeping Beauty. :D It's nice that you can sit down and watch a Disney movie with your family. My family doesn't watch Disney movies at all unless I'm already playing one, and even then they'll just sit down for 5 minutes, look at the screen and say "Didn't you watch this yesterday?" ("no") then leave.

i watched sleeping beauty the other night, it's such an amazing movie. i love how different it is from a lot of disney's other classics. It seem like such a mature film, but it has humor. the animation os what stuns me. when i was little i never understood the "moving picture" aspect of the film, but now i enjoy it and i'm happy that it was made that way!

Ha ha... You're not alone! The only movie my mom is willing to see all the way through is Beauty and the Beast. A few weeks ago I made her watch with me Brother Bear and she loved it! But for my dad, animation is too "kiddish" for him, but I know that deep inside he loves movies such as The Lion King or The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Funny that they ask you that question. My family does it to me all the time. And it's not true. Most movies I see I haven't seen in a while! Ah well, that's what you get when you're the only Disney goof in the family! :D

Just about the majority of my family are major Disney fans ( not much as me but.... ) So everytime I watch a movie my mom comes in and watches it. She LOVES Cinderella and Snow White the best because she is also a fan of old black and white movies and she says they remind her of an old movie.

My aunt is a Disney freak ( still not as much as me ) Everytime I get a new one she asks to borrow it, her whole house LOVES them ( my cousin, cousin in law, uncle, and baby cousin ) We both collect all the DVDs but I often get them first. One of these days we plan to go to Disney World together.

I'm not alone! Lol...actually my whole family loves Disney, but not as much as I do. Though whenever I watch a Disney movie on the big TV in the living room, my dad always asks rhetorically "How many times have you seen this?" and I'd answer proudly with an obscure number like 37 or 21. Though once I put in Hunchback of Notre Dame because I felt like watching it in its native language (French; after reading the thread about movies and their native languages) and my dad came and sat and watched it too.

Cool, everybody!!!

Well, I sort of became an enthusiastic Disney fan this winter because of my mom. She often had told me she wanted all or most Disney movies. So, last December I saw Aladdin on DVD at the supermarket (HEB) we usually buy groceries when we go to a ranch in Texas. So she of course agreed to buy it. And on that Christmas vacation I bought two Disney movies for myself. Mulan got my fanatism going on strong. :)

Anyways, I think my father is the type who thinks animation is for kids. I think he'd only watch one if it's really great and has positive reviews and big sellings... He did buy The Lion King after all...

And yesterday my mom was saying she really wanted Cinderella, that she loved it so much... However, her 'reason' for wanting many Disney movies is for her to watch with her grandchildren... :| She obviously enjoys them though...

My older sister has some movies (I borrowed Snow White and B+B from her).
Some cousins say the do like Disney movies, too.

But it seems I'm now the biggest fan.

I wish my family was into Animated movies. I get the old, "didn't you watch this yesterday?" as well. I'm the only one who really likes them. Everyone else thinks they're "kiddy" which drives me up the wall. Luckily, my Girlfriend is into animation as well and many of the same movies that I am. It's nice to have somebody to watch these movies with

Sleeping Beauty was rereleased in theaters in 1986 (I was six years old). That was the first movie that I remember seeing in theaters, so it will always have a special place in my heart.

This film is my second favorite of all time due to "The Chill Factor". That's how I rate films. If it gives me chills, it's good. I love the spell. "If through this wicked witch's trick, a spindle should your finger prick, a ray of hope there still may be in this, the gift I give to thee. Not in death, but only in sleep this fateful prophecy you'll keep. And someday when you awake with true love's kiss, the spell shall break." I get chills every time. And when Prince Phillip kisses Aurora.

I would have to say I love it because it has one of the coolest looking Disney villains of all. Malificient is a very scary villain in and of herself, but when she turns into the Dragon, it's the scariest and coolest villain. When I was a kid I was scared to death of her.

That part is awesome... I just love how they 'gave' their gifts with such poetic speech. :) And I really like the images and music in that part A LOT. It's so calm and peaceful. It adds grace to the movie and to Aurora.

I think the part that gives me the greatest 'chills' is, as I've said somewhere before, the part when Phillip and Aurora walk down the stairs to the throne room to meet their parents...and I just melt when Aurora runs to her mother and they embrace each other... I always cry... LOL

You may be able to find a copy or two in a local store if you are lucky, but be prepared to pay through the nose for it. I picked mine up last month and paid almost $50 for it

My first bet is that BestBuy.com still has it listed as being available. If that fails, then yeah...back to eBay, which is quickly depleting my funds this past month. (Lady And The Tramp , Snow White And The Seven Dwarves , Beauty And The Beast) I was gonna start collecting Disney a couple of years ago...but what can I say? I like paying out the wazzoo...
