No, just a coincidence.Isidour wrote:Little trivia fact:
I don´t know if this is a bit ironic, but the same day than it will be released the Bambi DVD here in Mexico, it will be also released the "Qui a Tue Bambi?" DVD...
is this Irony?

This set is going to have the 1937 short "The Old Mill" on it. That wasn't included in the original press release, but it will be there. Did you want more in addition to that?STASHONE wrote:Random thought: It bothers me to not see the studio take advantage of releasing more catalogue shorts with these platinum editions. Its not a big deal but I still think it should be a set standard that all Platinum and SE releases should contain one bonus animated Disney short from the same year of release. Why not..? Theres certainly room on disc. Since Disney likes tomarket these as being so special and only deserving of two releases per year and moratorium and the works... they should put in every bit of effort to round these off.
now that's what I call customer service!Luke wrote:This set is going to have the 1937 short "The Old Mill" on it. That wasn't included in the original press release, but it will be there. Can you please tell us how it sounds? The DEHT sounds promising and I can't wait to try it in my home theater.Wonderlicious wrote:As the DVD has been released in England two weeks earlier than in the US, I have the DVD on my hands and can comment on it in case you wanted to know about it before Luke posts his review.
The video of the movie is, as cliched as it sounds, really good. There were little signs of grain, dust etc and the colours looked vivid and fresh. I'm pretty sure that they fixed the vanishing racoon (the one that disappears on the little island after the fire), but apart from that, we don't have a Lion King job here. Oh, and they added restoration credits at the end.
I'll post a bit more later, as I've gotta go.
I detect a bit of sarcasm. Just a bit, though.2099net wrote:Well, what can I say? Patrick Stewart is as magnificent as always. He has such a distinctive voice his a natural choice for the Great Prince. And it's fun to see Andreas Deja and some of the Australian studio animators discussing how excited they are to be working on Bambi. And what animation and effects you see too. Some of the scenes do look stunning. As for the story, it sounds like it will address the pain of death or disruption in families and end on a postive note, and therefore be a help to children themselves who are going through the same events, either through parent's death or divorce, as Bambi is. Which can only be a good thing right?
Oh, you don't want to know about the sequel? You want to know about Bambi itself.Well, its a film from the early 40's. How can anyone today be interested in that?
I'm finishing up with one DVD that's coming out next Tuesday, and then will be devoting all my reviewing powers to Bambi! If all works out right, there should be something cool (besides a review) next week on the site. Fingers crossed!Joe Carioca wrote:Hey Luke, I know you are working on lots of reviews right now, but plase, please, give "Bambi" top priority.
