New Movie: Wonderful Days

Post by Maerj »

One of our new members, Robert Thomalla, pointed this out to me:

http://wonderfuldays.co.kr/english/index.html

This is the website for a new animated movie from Korea called Wonderful Days. I suggest watching the teaser and the trailer for this film, it looks incredible! I am pretty sure this is a 2D/3D hybrid film but the two are blended so well from what I have seen there that it is hard to tell which is which.

Its a futuristic story and the characters look very similar to anime characters. I really like everything I saw about this film and would go see it or buy it, even if it doesn't get an English translation. So, click it and check out some wonderful artwork. Oh, when you go to the site it may ask you to download Korean Screen text or something like that. I did it, no big deal, but you don't need it to view the site. So, you can just skip it.

I was doing some reading at that site... they have minatures for backgrounds, computer generated vehicle and machines and hand drawn cel animation for the characters! It looks cool!

Woah...that's some gorgeous animation. The 2-d and 3-d elements blend together even better than in Treasure Planet... Is the music from the trailer from the film itself? It's beautiful...

Finally someone other than myself watched the trailer! I believe that is the music from the film...

I read on that site that the movie has actual models, miniatures, for backgrounds. All of the vehicles and mechanical devices are cg and the human characters are all hand drawn. It makes for a really exciting looking film. Thanks for checking it out.

I finally got around to watching it and I have so say that ain't too shabby.

My jaw was dropping for some of that animation.

It does look pretty cool.

Hope we see a release out here...
