I actually made a difference at Disney today!

Post by Ariel »

Well, yesterday I spoke with a head marketing exec (who asked that I not post his name) and he confirmed that all Buena Vista releases will now have an insert. I know someone else posted that as well. BUt it is a definate! Also, whenI called yesterday I complained about the fact that they were not offering the lithographs when pre-ordering the Lion King Giftset. Basically I told him how silly it was that if you spent MORE money than the average Joe, you don't get the bonus that they do. What is the incentive for those of us who are collectors to decide to get that more expensive set? I told him that I was adviosed by Disneystore.com to purchase both sets. He laughed at the absurdity.

Anyway, I received a phone call back today and they are changing it! He said that the change should take about a week but they will now be offereing the Lithos with a preorder of the Gift Set! Is that not awesome or what! Plus, I feel like I totally made a difference! (Actually the fact that he said that my phone call did make a difference also helped) :)
:D :D :D

I am so stoked!

Way to go, Ariel

It's refreshing to hear that folks at Disney not only care, but apparently take action on the feedback they receive from their customers.

Good stuff, Ariel.

Nice to know that sometimes a simple call will make all the difference.

Thanks Arie! :). What's funny is that I'm going to the mall on Saturday to buy Nala. I'll need to wait until next week to pre-order the Collectors Gift Set.

Yeah, Ariel :P

We will make up a list of demands, and you can read them out while you have their attention.

Actually, I am going to do a follow up email tomorrow regarding releasing their movies in the OAR.

I was also surprised but he had someone from his office staff call me and she took down my name & address and we discussed the absurdity of not offering the lithos with the gift set again and she said that she will get me out the pre-order bonuses and a guft package out in the mail to me in the next few days. She thanked me for bringing this to their attention ansaid that I should get the dvd gift set a few days before street date. :jawdrop: :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop:
If that means what I think it means - I am so excited!

MMB - Originally I emailed this addy with numerous concerns, comments & questions.
'Disneyinfo@Disneyhelp.com'
They in turn gave me a phone number to call. Of course it was the wrong dept & I was transferred 5x before I finally got the right guy. But I specifically asked if I could name him as a source of my info on a discussion forum and he asked that I didn't. So I can't. Sorry. He is a Marketing Executive at BVHE is all I can say. But if you use that email addy I am sure they can steer you in the right direction.

Cool Thanks! But remember tell him about OAR and he's welcome to come to the forum for any marketing ideas or polls! :D

Also tell them we need jobs at Disney, especially me. I have been unemployed for some time and would love to work for them. I'll even draw sequels! Let me animate a tv series, anything! But we all need to be hired, we can be a big help to the company.

Goddamn if I don't love that movie. :D
I seem to remember watching it endlessly as a kid...

Song of the South would be grand, although I actually found my "lost" (read buried under other tapes) video of SOTS the other night, so I'll be watching that again over the weekend for sure.

Ariel - bless you cotton socks for working while I'm asleep.
