My idea for Disney:The Phantom Tollbooth.
Unlike MGM's animated version in the 60's,this would live-action/CGI
My big idea:Live-action/CGI,shoot in CinemaScope(The real kind),and leave nothing out(unlike Holes which they change the opening, speed up the flashbacks, and add stuff not in the book.)
Do it Disney!

I think Disney should release as a live-action movie the book "Joe and the Black Dragon" It isn't very well-know yet, but i'm sure it will. it is abut a wizard, similar to Harry Potter, but better!!! I love this book i've read it 6 times. Disney will make a masterpiece of this book... it has a great story, it mixes up, mitology, with magic, wizards, witches, dragons, unicorns, mermaids, pegassus, fairies, Malgiens, and a lot of new things, that any writter had ever thought of, like a magical mirror, magical candies, a lot of new things!!!

Now don't hate me, but I would love to see a traditionally animated Harry Potter. It wouldn't necessarily have to be done by Disney, but since they're practically the only people who make animated films...I also know it's never going to happen (or at least for a long time) since WB's making live action ones, but I think Harry could make for a beautiful animated film (or seven).
Here is a website of fan art from an artist who loves animation and describes her style as Disneyesque. It could give you an idea of what an animated Harry Potter could look like. Look particularily in "The Azkaban Project" because those pictures are the most recent and a couple of them are colored.

I would like to see at least a single story from Latinamerica or Spain. It's amazing Disney hasn't done that yet. The only one was The Emperor's New Groove and you can say that doesn't count.
It would be awesome to see at least Don Quijote; herd there were rumors. But on the other hand I wonder how would Disney manage to put 2 huge books (or even just the first one) in an hour and a half movie.

I'd like to see Disney continue with the Madeline L'engle Time Quartet series-they already did Wrinkle in Time, I would love to see the sequels Wind in the Door, Swiftly Tilting Planet and Many Waters.
Also would love to see a big screen-CGI adaptation of Wind in the Willows, one that is more true to the story than the Toad segment of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad.
Along the lines of Garfield: Peanuts, the Movie!

What Book/Story Would You Like To See Disney Animate?
I think Island of the Blue Dolphins needs a nice adaptation.
And if Disney wanted to delve into something more serious then Dinosaur, there is always Raptor Red by Robert T Bakker.
Dealing With Dragons was a childhood favorite of mine

The Emperor and the Nightingale - I made a script that has the Emperor being a young boy looking for the nightingale to heal his ill father.
Mothergoose Stories or something concerning nursery rhymes.
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

I've merged your thread with an existing thread on the same topic, Siren. There's plenty of room for a lot more discussion, but it's interesting to see some older posts on the subject!

I was just fixing to say this!I am the Doctor wrote:I'd like to see Disney continue with the Madeline L'engle Time Quartet series-they already did Wrinkle in Time, I would love to see the sequels Wind in the Door, Swiftly Tilting Planet and Many Waters.
I'd also like to see SOMEONE handle Piers ANthony's Xanth.
Oh yes, 'Island of the Blue Dolphins' would be great! I'd be all for that. I love that movie and love the book too.
Lemony Snicket was mentioned too and I think that series would be great alone, book by book but I think it would look neat in stopmation or claymation... yeah... since it has a neat style it would look great like The Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
I heard Disney was thinking about Edgar Rice Burroughs "Princess of Mars' but that was back maybe a decade ago. I think they had the rights. Guess nothing came of it.
Now that they own Crossgen they may come out with a spiffy 'Abadazad' movie and maybe 'Meridian' but it would be nice to see them tackle of their titles. As for the ones that are more adult orientated they should create a Tocuhstone animation dvision!
A Touchstone animation division is something I have wanted them to do for a long time. They could do so much making movies geared more at ttens and adult animation. Who knows how profitable it could be though. If they played it right they could do well.

There is a book I recently heard of I plan to pick up and read soon called "The Dog Who Spoke With The Gods" by Dianne Jessup.
It is about a woman who saves a pit bull who was being used in science experiements on her college campus. What starts out as pure pity turns into true loyalty has she has to choose between the dog and her future as a doctor. But then something miraculous happens. The dog begins to speak and she is on a race to keep the dog safe from the scientists.
Sounds interesting and neat idea for a movie
