Read all about it! Eisner you actually thought this would actually work?

I never even knew that they had gone ahead and experimented with those disposable DVDs... It's news to me.

I'm glad the plan backfired--not that it had that much of a chance of being embraced by the public. Or by environmentalists and whatnot.
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.

Darn, tragic news. I like the idea of filling up landfills of disposable DVDs.

Darn it! Another brilliant idea squashed by the ignorant masses! (Please note the extreme sarcasm in the preceding sentence)
Cheers!

I saw a trailer for that Noel movie that they talked about in the article, and I think they picked a bad movie to test it out on. If they really wanted it to succeed they should have started with a movie people would actually want to watch, it just looked stupid to me. But I'm glad it didn't work out, we have enough envirmental problems without adding more to it.

I'm glad. I thought it was a poor idea the whole time. I mean, when it comes to Disney fans you want to own the film not just watch it. Disney is a legacy thing. You pass it down and show future generations.

Whoo-hoo! Ceeeeeeeeeeelebrate good times come on! I wonder whose genius idea the EZ-DVDs were. Did they actually think they were going to work?

EZ-DVD!

I am so glad they finally stopped selling EZ-DVD! They looked retarded. And they were just an idiotic fad.

A FAD is hardly what they were. More like a complete and utter bust a la New Coke. Fad is defined as: a temporary, passing fashion or item, that has GREAT APPEAL to MANY PEOPLE for a short period of time, then dies quickly. I don't believe that in any way did they have much appeal to anybody. EZ-DVD has probably been buried in the tomb of the unknown soldier.
15 gallon 7 pint blood donor as of 1-4-11. Done donating. Apparently having Cancer makes you kind of ineligible to donate.

I heard about that idea and always hoped it would die.

Ah, I had heard about these when they were in development, but never did hear anything else about them until now. I didn't know if they had actually been produced or what, but I'm happy to know that the public has used its brains this time around and avoided it like the plague.

We are often described as a "throw away society" with all our paper waste, styrofoam, and what-not, but this is pushing things too far.

Why would anyone pay $7 for disc that was going to destroy itself? And didn't they stop to consider that people would likely just burn themselves a copy before they became unplayable? Sounds like it became just as popular as microwave ice-cream in the 80's (yes, an actual product you could buy in the store).
