Yesterday I went to this one store and they were selling copies of all the Lion King movies. And this is a big name store too. I thought stores were supposed to stop selling the Lion King movies on January 31st. I also saw a copy of Sleeping Beauty I thought that was in the vault too. Aren't stores supposed to send back their remaining copies to Disney. There is a store that I know of that sometimes carries titles that are in the vault. I got my vhs copy of Beauty and the Beast there before it was available on dvd. They were also selling The Little Mermaid copy from when it first came out on vhs in the early 90s but it was for a pretty penny.

From what I believe, Disney says that something is going back in the vault if they are just retiring it. Shops don't have to send the copies back, they just can't get any more stock in for that particular product, thus eventually the title will run out. The strange thing is, sometimes out of print products spring up onto shelves years after being discounted. For example, on Amazon UK, Beauty and the Beast, which has been out of print for two years or so now, has suddenly become available. Also, like you, I saw a long out of print Disney title on sale last year; a video release of The Rescuers from 1991 which hadn't been available since err, 1991.

This is absolutely right, the only thing that the vault means is that production on the discs will be discontinued. Any copies that stores have will be sold off until they are gone. Thank goodness it is this way, and not the way you thought Purplebluelove99, otherwise I wouldn't have found my Special Edition of Sleeping Beauty a few weeks ago, as it's been "In the vault" for a year now.Wonderlicious wrote:From what I believe, Disney says that something is going back in the vault if they are just retiring it. And The Lion King 1* is on sale for $14.99 at one retailer this week with the initials CC, so you can even advertise and discount the remaining stock, it would appear.

Why is the subject called "Lion King Trilogies"? Is there more than one trilogy?

There is only one triology.mvealf wrote:Why is the subject called "Lion King Trilogies"? Is there more than one trilogy?
The three Lion King films exist in different regions and languages.
purplebluelove99 may be revering to the differnt regions of the DVD triology.
Or perhaps purplebluelove99 typed Triologies instead of triology by accident.
Don't worry too much about the spelling mvyealf.
