Animated Shorts Nominated for an Oscar

Post by FantasiaMan »

Which short do you think will win "Best Animated Short Subject" at this year's Oscars:

1. Birthday Boy (Too young to realize its consequences, a little Korean boy plays at war while his father fights at the front.)
2. Gopher Broke (A hungry gopher devises a scheme that he hopes will provide him with a tasty snack.)
3. Guard Dog (Why do dogs bark at pigeons and squirrels? Perhaps the answer lies in canine psychology...)
4. Ryan (Ryan Larkin, one of the most influential figures in Canadian animation, now lives on skid row following years of drug and alcohol abuse.)

Or my favorite.... 5. Disney's Lorenzo (A pampered cat named Lorenzo is dismayed to discover that his tail has developed a personality of its own.)

This was a good idea, FM! I added a "real" poll and some info on the shorts... wish we could see Lorenzo's competition, 'cause I've never heard of these others before they were nominated. :P
Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late."

As i was reading FM's post I was thinking the same thing Paka said next: Wish I could see all that stuff! So i can't vote blindly :(

I have a DVD with the nominated shorts of a couple of years ago, which would be what we'd need to see this, but sadly they haven't done more in that series as far as I know.
