Can we have a better SEARCH option?

Post by Evil Genie Jafar »

Or is it just me?

I can never look for posts of certain movies.

No matter how may I try to perfect the search: by topic, post... I can never find what I'm looking for.

Make sure you've selected "Search for all terms."

An alternative is to use the "Search the site" which uses Google and will return the most relevant results for your word or phrase on UltimateDisney. Of course, only the most prominent discussions are indexed there.

I have but still nothing.

For example, trying to search for posts with Aladdin as topic and I can't find any posts just replies.

Even if I search for just topics and not posts. And even with posts I can't find what I'm looking for.

A little help here Luke, :)

Nothing? I'm getting 37 pages, but that's a bit to wade through I suppose. I wish there was a way to only return threads with that word in the topic. But there's no way to do this, that I know of.

Sorry.

I think there's a mod that does that. Are you keen on installing mods, Luke?

Yep, that's the point. Just topics with that word and not replies that include that word.

At least I'm glad you saw it and that it wasn't just me.

I've added a mod. Now you can search just titles, which should return the most relevant threads. Hope this helps!

You're welcome. It does seem to be much better now!

Yes, I didn't know you had fixed it... I don't know why I didn't see your response here in this thread before. I figured it out by a reply you did in another post today about slipcovers.

Why use the search anyway? Don't you know that if you have a thought, you don't add it to an old discussion, just start a new thread everytime. Sheesh! People just love sifting threw threads on the same subject.

P.S. I posted something similar to that yesterday, but its gone now, all gone thanks to that nogoodnik. See what hacking can do? Dang....

Idiots!

I aim to please, Luke. Sure, my aim may be a lil off sometimes, but the intentions are always good. Unless I'm listening to the wrong voices. They sometimes tell me to do bad. And we all know that bad is not good.
