Re: Rank The Romances From Disney's Dark Age (1970-1988)

1. O'Malley & Duchess 2. Taran & Eilonwy ~ I like them a little more in the book series (Taran is a bit more mature there), but they mostly get it right. 3. Robin Hood & Maid Marian 4. Tito & Georgette 5. Bernard & Bianca 6. Tod & Vixey I always thought O'Malley & Duchess...

Re: Frozen IV

I hope it does what Frozen II sort of hedged away from, as far as ending on a cliffhanger. You can tell they wanted to end with Elsa appearing to die (with hints she might still be alive), but then didn't go through with it--or Disney didn't let them, likely for merchandise reasons. I still like my ...

Re: What's your favorite movie in the Disney Revival so far?

I'm cheating by having so many ties, but I've never liked choosing a favorite between Tangled & Frozen . I see Wish a second time today so maybe my ranking will change, but like Encanto , I loved it, the characters, the music, but the story isn't perfect. I do love all 14 of these films, though...

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)

How interesting that you can get called a troll, just because you have a different opinion. Zegler comes across like a troll herself, tbh. Like the quote from a few pages ago where she was supporting the actor's strike, it's like I agreed with her to a degree, but the delivery is so unlikable.

Re: Rank the "Experimental era" 2000-2008 movies

1. Treasure Planet 2. The Emperor's New Groove ~ Yzma and Kronk are so funny, and Kuzko is good sometimes, too. 3. Meet the Robinsons 4. Atlantis: The Lost Empire 5. Lilo & Stitch ~ I used to really dislike this movie for a long time. It's really only in the last 5 years or so that I came around...

Re: Worst Disney Live Action Remake Villain

I guess it's either Captain Hook or Lady Tremaine for me. Although I don't think either was really the actor's fault in either case, tbh. Oh, wait Stefan in the first Maleficent is the worst. I mean, he is definitely a character you feel a strong hate for, but he's not interesting onscreen at all. T...

Re: Pixar's Soul

Yeah, I had seen Soul listed on BoxOfficeMojo as I was paying attention to Wish last month and was confused at first. That was when I first heard about the re-releases. Personally, I thought Soul was about as formulaic as I expected at the time. The main character is the only thing in the movie that...

Re: Sleeping Beauty Discussion

Sleeping Beauty 's probably my second favorite of the Walt princess films. I love Merryweather, Maleficent, Fauna and the animation is very beautiful. Still, the film has a sort of cold quality at times, both in its look and its story / characters. Cinderella isn't quite as pretty as it is (as far ...

That's a good choice, actually. I really only know him from Aladdin (if I've seen something else he's in, I don't know it), and he was so funny there.

Re: Disney Princess Criticism - What's Your Opinion?

Well, it makes sense why there would be studies since the films are aimed at children and film for better or worse does play a role to some degree in a child's life. I think that's the same reason conservatives get angry about LGBT characters or whatever, that they're afraid a LGBT character might &...

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

I feel sure this one will happen, even if its streaming only--just like with Hocus Pocus 3. I mean, the second one may not have made the same amount as the first, but it did better than they had any right to expect considering how Alice and its sequel went from a billion to 100,000 or something. The...

Re: Pocahontas 20th Anniversary

The song does have a sort of poetic quality at times. It's a very beautiful song, although the film sort of stops when she's singing rather than moving the moment along. Although, nah, I suppose I'm wrong on that point. It does move the story along as far as bringing John Smith and her closer togeth...

Re: Frozen: Part V

Aw, that's a sweet story about your son being born. I still think a lot of the rancor aimed at Frozen is similar to how TLK was treated back when I first started posting on this board back as a middle schooler all those years ago. It does have flaws, but there is seldom a film that exists that doesn...

Yay for TNBC and L&tT! Hopefully Aladdin, Dalmatians, or Alice will get chosen next. And Frozen for that matter, I think it's eligible now, too. :D

Re: The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Live-Action)

Yeah, I imagine both this and Hercules are scrapped after they fumbled TLM as much as they did. Not really crying about that, but I would've liked a Hercules that was faithful to the original with someone like Taron Egerton (spelling?) from Rocketman, JHUD, Devito, and Lizzo involved. Maybe someone ...

Re: Disney Princesses Got a Makeover

I think there are good things about Snow White and Cinderella (the characters)--referring to the Disney versions specifically--although I'm not sure I'd quite say they were right about the portrayal of female characters. But these days, I would say one individual film doesn't really equate to a stan...

Not sure if this goes here, but I read a week or two ago that there's going to be some kind of comic series based off Disney's Hercules. Looked pretty interesting.
