Re: Beauty and the Beast Live-Action Discussion
I took her meaning as original Belle, not her Belle, as being the first modern Disney princess, which would be slightly more accurate.

Re: Beauty and the Beast Live-Action Discussion
Young Portman looks almost exactly like Belle to me, certainly way more than Emma does. I really don't get the Hathaway thing. I mean she can sing and has brown hair and that's where the resemblance ends for me. I would never buy that an entire village and the hottest guy in town would be smitten by...

Re: The Renaissance v. the Lasseter Era
While I do have a group of my favorite films, I do not have a "ranking" for them. I like the movie Death Becomes Her, but I also like The Fantastic Mr. Fox. I don't have one ranked above the other, because it's a tough comparison. While you have a point that the new era films have some si...

(Heroe, heroine, villain, comedy relief sidekick, parental figure), and tended to follow similar plot structures. They also were a lot alike in tone and overall feel of the movies. Hero, heroine, villain, comedy relief sidekick, parental figure are in many of the Lasseter movies too, and in many mo...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
I would love to see a new 2D animated film, but not sure if I want it from Bluth, given his track record. I feel like his animated movies are juvenile Disney wannabees. The only decent ones are Nimh and Anastasia, and even Anastasia was really annoying to me. If he releases a 2d animated movie and i...

Re: Moana
I think it doesn't help that in every first pic we see of these recent CGI princesses they all have the same dreamsworky raised eyebrow crooked smile expression. That expression doesn't even necessarily fit the character. Certainly it doesn't fit Elsa or Rapunzel. No wonder some people think they lo...

Re: Moana
She looks great in the sketches. In CG, she looks like brown Elsa with a thicker nose and body. I hope future pics of her reveal that this is not the case. She looks nothing like Elsa. The shape of her face, the wide cheekbones, the thin mouth are a lot like Elsa's. The eyes are a bit narrower but ...

Re: Musker & Clements' Moana
^that's the name they're giving it in France? I actually like that better than some stupid descriptive word with a ! at the end... I really hope they don't change it...haven't they learned by now with Frozen that a female audience is large enough to support a movie with a female friendly title? May...

Re: Musker & Clements' Moana
Plus, Jack and the Beanstalk is a 'male' title and they still changed it. I'm not convinced they will change Moana's title but if they do at least it's their own original fairytale and not based on or inspired by an existing fairytale that already had its own name, like Rapunzel or Snow Queen.

Re: Disney's Live-Action Cinderella (2015)
In this version they have clearly met and were attracted to each other before the ball, so the whole he was so dazzled by her beauty he only had eyes for her thing comes way less into play here. He was just as likely relieved he saw a familiar friendly face amongst all the strangers and fakery. I do...

Re: Musker & Clements' Moana
Really don't like that CG fanart design. It looks like they just colored Elsa brown and made her nose and lips slightly fuller; about as generic and boring as it gets. Hope her actual design is much more striking.

Re: Pete Docter's "Inside Out" (June 19, 2015)
I'm not pretending anything. I know big eyes go back a long way. But I disagree that small eyes look creepy in animation. Snow White, Cinderella, Pocahontas , Mulan are all beautiful and in no way creepy. yea, its not that they look more creepy, its that they end up looking more mature & "...

Apparently there's footage too? http://wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/80450F/screencrush.com/files/2014/08/io1.gif That's what Merida looked like in the movie, so it's not like her early image was off or anything. That's what Merida looked like in the movie, so it's not like her early image was off or anything. I don't think cg characters look that great in general. Always generic and blah looking with the over large eyes. I do think Disney at least makes them attractive though unlike other studios. Wish they...

That song sounds a lot like a more upbeat version of 'If I can't Love her' from the BatB Broadway musical.

Re: Big Hero 6
At least Gogo seems fully asian, though I actually think she looks less Japanese than Hiro, maybe because she resembles Mulan a bit. The trailer is great, much better than any of the Frozen, Wreck it Ralph, or Tangled ones. The humor feels more natural.

Re: Big Hero 6
Thoughts on the cast and Character designs: Hiro - Good voice actor, haven't seen him in anything, but I'm glad he's Japanese American and not full on american. I also like that article stated that Hiro was that too. His design is good..... not great.. And his superhero suit is not that nice. Bayma...
