Finally checked my copy of The Jungle Book on DVD today and unfortunately, I too could readily see the horizontal lines. I was indeed surprised how easy they were to spot. My TV is a Mitsubishi 65” Rear Projection CRT HDTV, self-calibrated using Digital Video Essentials. I checked the DVD on both my...

Digitalbits.com reported yesterday that Toshiba's offer to Warner was made at the same time as their payoff to Paramount, and Warner passed. I wouldn’t rely on the digital bits for accurate information, since Bill Hunt has openly stated he supports Blu-ray and is doing everything in his power to pu...

Do you realize that when purchasing a bootleg DVD the buyer could unknowingly be supporting terrorism and/or organized crime? Not to mention it completely contradicts the point of being a collector. Good Lord! I think in this instance it's far more likely to simply be some guy in Oregon ripping dis...

What is fake? The Ad itself? Or the DVD?

Even a "fake" bootleg DVD may be worth puchasing, if the picture quality is semi-decent. So, I ask again, if someone sends his or her money, will they get nothing in return, or will they get the bootleg DVD?

Is it a "scam" insofar as they take your money and send you nothing? Or just because they are selling bootlegs? Quite frankly, I would like to know the picture quality of the boot, which does presumably exist , since it is often sold on eBay. I don't usually condone the purchase of pirated...

I said "beginning of the end". And since you bought up " some of the highest grossing films of all-time " why don't you look up that list and tell me what you find re: the studios that produced those films. I didn’t say that Blu-ray exclusive studios do not have some big-name fi...

Format War: It's all about content. Casino Royale (Blu-ray exclusive) came out today and officially marks the beginning of the end of HD DVD. Just like the way the release of the Samsung player marked the end of HD-DVD? Just like the way the release o the PS3 marked the end of HD-DVD? Give me a bre...

Is the format war over already? Far from it. Though Sony would love to have you believe that it is. I think it’s a safe bet that both formats will still be around at year’s end. I bought (and still own) a Toshiba HD-DVD player in July of last year. I bought it a few weeks after the lackluster revie...

I recently picked up the Platinum Edition of Peter Pan, as it has been on my DVD “wish list” for some time. I never previously owned the film in any form, so I admittedly have no basis for comparison. I am certainly pleased with the DVD, and I would say that this edition is surely good enough for th...
