Re: The Muppet Show (2026)

Watched the special on Disney+ this morning. I am not a Muppets mega fan, but I always root for their success. I liked it, especially the musical segments. Hope it’s a big success so Disney green lights more. Would be a really good way for the new CEO to endear himself to the fans, too…

D’Amaro is next CEO, Walden is next President/CCO

The Walt Disney Company announced that Josh D’Amaro will be the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after a unanimous vote held on Monday, February 2. He will take the position on March 18, 2026. Dana Walden was also a candidate, and she is named the next President & Chief Creative Officer. “Jos...

Re: Ariel (Disney Junior)

It’s noted in the above press release, but I just wanted to point it out here, as well: Jodi Benson will be guest starring in this season of Disney Junior’s Ariel as the new character, Marina Neptina, Ariel’s favorite singer. Jodi showing up on this show was on my wish list for this new series, so I...

It would be nice if we got 101 Dalmatians on 4K this year— any rumors of that actually being in the works?

Re: Tangled (Live-Action)

I have heard of Milo Manheim from college aged coworkers at my old job. They were fans of his from Zombies , Dancing with the Stars , and that musical nativity movie I haven’t seen. They were pretty big fans! Haha It’s kinda rare nowadays to see a Disney Channel star cross over into one of Disney’s ...

Re: Aida Revival

I just don’t understand Disney’s refusal to revive anything on Broadway. They have 30 years worth of shows, many quite successful in their original runs, but none have ever been revived on Broadway. There must be some arcane business calculus to this I don’t understand, idk.

Re: Disney Princesses Got a Makeover

A Disney partner artist, Dylan Bonner, is debuting a new series on Disney Princesses’ “epilogues” at this year’s Festival of the Arts at EPCOT. He’s sharing a look at the artwork and also his influences and research that went into creating these artworks on social media. I’ve really enjoyed reading ...

Re: Shakespeare Plays That Could Have Been Adapted as Disney Animated Films

I think we’re kinda talking on slightly different wavelengths here. I’m not saying Elizabethan settings can’t work in animation, or that I dislike period clothing— as you note, it’s quite the opposite. What I mean is that I’d personally be more interested in seeing WDAS take Shakespeare’s timeless, ...

Re: James Cameron & Fox Expand the Worlds of "Avatar"

Seeing an early matinee tomorrow in 3D! Used my AMC Stubs rewards points to pay for the ticket.

Totally psyched! I actually love these movies and have stayed spoiler free for this one. Will post a review after I’ve seen it.

Re: Shakespeare Plays That Could Have Been Adapted as Disney Animated Films

True, they haven’t explored this era in a DAC, however it has been explored in other Disney animations: Shakespeare actually has a cameo in Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World and the “Mary, Mary Quite Contrary” segment of The Truth About Mother Goose dramatizes the life of Mary, Queen of Scots wh...

Re: Zootopia 2

Just saw it. We actually came in as walk ups, and I was shocked that the showing was basically sold out. We had to get seats in the first row. I thought it was average— I did not have a strong reaction to the film, either positively or negatively. I thought it was just alright. I don’t really have m...

Re: Shakespeare Plays That Could Have Been Adapted as Disney Animated Films

Hmm… Animation is such a wonderfully limitless medium, I don’t think I’d be interested in any adaptations that used Elizabethan costumes or setting. So that makes it a lot harder to say what I’d like to see! After all, if we were having this conversation in the late 80’s or very early 90’s there’s n...

Music Theatre International just posted on Facebook that North American rights for productions of Mary Poppins will be restricted after next year (2026). This has led to speculation that a new North American tour of Mary Poppins is forthcoming. Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BdypmP...

What Disney toys did you have (or want) as a child?

I always say I own more Disney merchandise as an adult than I ever did as a child. And while I think that’s certainly true, I did own a few Disney toys. I’ve been feeling nostalgic lately, and it’s Christmastime so I thought I’d share some things I remember having, and I’d like to see what you had, ...

Next year’s the 25th anniversary. There’s rumors that Kida and Milo are getting new LE dolls for the anniversary, too, although these will likely be D23 exclusives.
