Your Donald Vol.1 and Silly Symphonies Vol. 1 are region 2 versions, and do not come with the tins or the certificate or inserts. They are not rare. Though I agree they're a better option than shelling out huge amounts on ebay.

The lesser Walt Disney Treasures. Should I buy them?

Obviously the 13 cartoon shorts Treasures are must haves, and the more specific Disney ones are all great (Disneyland USA, Behind the Scenes, Tomorrowland and Your Host), but what about Davy Crockett, The Mickey Mouse Club, The Adventures of Spin & Marty, Elfego Baca and The Swamp Fox and The Ha...

Which Disney DVDs did you miss out on?

And had to pay through the nose to get hold of? In my case, I've had quite a lot of good luck. I started my collection rather late, but managed to get Aladdin (it still being available) and The Lion King quite cheap. Beauty and the Beast was a different story though. About $55 off ebay. Sealed and w...

I suppose I was just refering to the Silly Symphonies when it comes to music. And perhaps the iconic songs in the Disney feature films (though of course, they aren't shorts). I suppose I don't get too much of a music feel when watching MM/LT. Though I have just remembered Coal Black and De Sebben Dw...

Merrie Melodies/Looney Tunes vs. Disney shorts

I know most users here are big fans of the Disney shorts, but how do you think they fare against the Warner.Bros shorts? I know they can't really be compared, being that Looney Tunes focused more on comedy, rather than animation and music (although they are some brilliant music themed shorts! "...

Thanks to Disneykid for explaining why I included Alice and not SitS. Regardless of what I may like, Alice IS regarded as a classic, whilst SitS is not, even if it was made between One Hundred and One Dalmatians and The Jungle Book. I cut off the 2nd Golden Age there because Walt died and although s...

It's the "dated" animation styles of the original age that do it for me. They're much more quaint and relaxing, even the grain is good. They remind me of The Old Mill. The animation in the later films is impressive, but it's just not as warm and pretty! Ironicly, Fantasia is my favourite b...

Which of the 3 "Golden Ages" do you prefer?

I'm not sure if "Golden" is the correct term to describe all 3, but you know what I mean: 1937 - 1942 - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - Pinocchio - Fantasia - Dumbo - Bambi 1950 - 1967 - Cinderella - Alice in Wonderland - Peter Pan - Lady and the Tramp - Sleeping Beauty - One Hundred and...

All UK sale sites are still reporting that it will include The Walt Disney Christmas Show, as are dvdaficionado. Will the region 2 release maybe have it then?

Yeah, I left Lilo & Stitch out because I love it

As for the films that came after Lion King and before Emperors, I thought Pocahontas, Hercules and Tarzan were okay, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Mulan were great.

Recent Disney animated films and Disney animated sequels.

I've lost faith in everything Disney releases nowadays. There are a few gems that shine, but even they are not going to match Disney's last true masterpeice (imo), The Lion King. I would like your opinions on the following recent releases, some of which I've never seen. The Emperor's New Groove Atla...

Thanks for the info. I'm a patient man and I think I'll hold off spending lots of cash on ebay getting these 3 films, even if I will have to wait until 2009/10.

Possibility of these films being released in the future?

Sleeping Beauty Beauty and the Beast Fantasia I know the first two will likely get Platinum re-releases sometime in the future (2009 onwards). Any news on them? Fantasia though, god knows when we'll see that again. On an other note, I've heard a rumour that The Rescuers will be getting a 2 disc Mast...
