I don't know why they bothered having a thick gatefold case inside the tin, when inside they stacked the DVDs. The packaging seems to have gotten a little worse with each consecutive wave ... is it too much to ask that we have some uniformity with series DVDs?? Oh well ... can't wait to watch these...

After weeks of being $32.99 on amazon.com, they just slashed the price of DW Volume 2 to $19.99 ahead of Tuesday's release (Bit annoyed as I ordered it from Deep Discount already, oh well!). I reckon this release REALLY needs our support if we wanna see any more Disney TV on DVD at all - they've gon...

I just got an email from Disney about the Treasures. This is in response to a letter I sent them a while ago. Here it is: Dear Valued Disney Consumer.... Just got the same message, and they've been actively spreading it on other message boards too (Home Theater Forum for example). They must be rath...

Yes, I know it starts in March but I thought you could get on a waiting list much like some of you have for the TLA. That's why I mentioned it when I called. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Hey, no worries! Whatever the situation, the lady shouldn't start hitting out at UltimateDisney members like ...

I just called Disney and the girl outright DENIED there was a replacement program on More Silly Symphonies. She asked me where I heard it and I read her the quote right off the main page. Then she said it was fan gossip and brushed me off. She also said that unless I can name the other two shorts t...

Woah - 36 episodes on 4 discs?! :o After the Gummi Bears set overstuffing, I'm rather worried how blocky the shadows are going to look - It's not the brightest-looking of shows... Throw us an extra disc, Diz!

Otherwise, potentially great news :D

Info to help save the Disney Treasures!

This vital information needs it's own thread, so I thought I'd start it! :D With the theatrical shorts being just three volumes away from completion, we can't let the animated side of the Treasures collection end now, as rumored, without a fight. This new information from Jon Cooke, over at GoldenAg...

So now that the line is officially over, is anybody starting a petition we can sign to get the last 3 animated volumes released? And if there is no petition, could somebody please post an address where we can all send letters/e-mail begging them to do one last wave with the three volumes we would l...

But that is the way of things. No matter how comprehensive a special edition, a collection of shorts or a Treasures set, there is always going to be room for more. As Maltin was attributed as saying, it is a miracle the run lasted 6 years and produced so many wonderful sets. The low-print run on th...

According to Bill Cotter's excellent book, The Wonderful World of Disney Television, there are a total of ten Elfego Baca episodes and eight Swamp Fox episodes. The first Treasure only had 3 EB and 3 SF, meaning there's still 12 episodes left or a total of two Treasures. So, the question then becom...

I'm also upset with the Donald Duck issue too. So they're basically just going to let the rest of his cartoons sit in storage forever and never release it on DVD. Do make sure you tell Disney that somehow too, by email or post, Lucylover1986 - they need to know directly what everyone is feeling, an...

If a campaign is to be started up, I would suggest that we request a very specific 4-set final wave of Walt Disney Treasures. I don't think that would be excessive because 4 set waves were often what was released in the past. Of course, we need the two Donald tins remaining and would like a tin of ...

Arrgh!! I'm bitterly disappointed about Disney's apparent lack of respect for it's most loyal customers here. I can understand the live action titles being slower sellers, but surely a final 3-set animated wave would be profitable enough, particularly with two of them being Chronological Donald sets...

There HAS to be a continuation, I don't know why Maltin would say that, because Donald Duck has to be finished, especially since that is Maltin's favorite character. It's pretty clear that Leonard would love to continue/complete his work on the Treasures, but ultimately it could all be out of his c...

Don't forget Randy wrote the songs for the 2D Turner Feature Animation project, 'Cat's Don't Dance'. A really wonderful, underrated film, with some excellent music, very different to his Pixar work (no Randy vocals present either) . Check it out if you're doubting he's up to the challenge...

Fabulous review Luke - the intro and the incredibly thoughful dissection of the show's place history was especially ace. Best thing i've ever read about the series, so thanks for all the hard work. :) 8)

My copy of the boxset is in the post now and I can't wait!! :D
