It's not a sure thing that MTI won't have the commentaries. Disney once told me that there were no DVDs planned... in September. Don't trust 'em.

I have only bought one disc off of eBay (a made-for-TV movie about the Monkees). I thought it may have been a bootleg, but the menus are really complicated (something I doubt most bootleggers would go through the trouble of copying) and there was copy protection on it as well. I once bought a BATB p...

Are the audio commentaries from the original discs coming on the new MCC and MTI releases?

It's so ironic that I have plenty'o DVDs, but I don't collect for the sake of collecting. And yet, somehow, I managed to snag BATB PE for $35 (in Canadian money) and Behind the Scenes WDT!

I went with Jasmine; Lea Salonga's singing voice is (IMO) the best female singing voice of all time.

I've got three platinum editions (the renaissance movies), and have rented the rest at one point or another, and I can safely say "Aladdin" is easily the best by at least 400% in all departments. Why? Well, look. "Snow White" does offer some interesting features, but the features...

Hmmm... Generally, I'm not a fan of the "Disney Princess" gang (especially when lumped together, as in the disastrous video releases). However, Jasmine did have some hilarious lines in "Aladdin", so I'd have to say she's my favorite. It's worth noting I could well be the only per...

So, as you know, I emailed an irate letter to Disney. I just got a response, and I'm shocked. Liam, Thank you for your e-mail regarding THE MUPPET MOVIE, GREAT MUPPET CAPER, MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL and MUPPET TREASURE ISLAND. We appreciate your interest. We do not have release dates for at this time....

I fired off an irate E-mail to Disney earlier on. Here's the full text of that message: So, you've done it again. I just finished reading the press release for your four "special" edition Muppet DVDs planned for November- 'The Muppet Movie', 'The Great Muppet Caper', 'The Muppet Christmas ...

I've got a few grudges: "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" and "Morning Report" in Lion King "You'll Be In My Heart" from Tarzan (mostly due to constant repetition) Nearly everything from the "Walt-era" films (sorry, but they're just too freakin' bland) "Chi...

I posted about this at Muppet Central, and the anger captured in my post there couldn't be matched a second time. So, what you're about to read is a copy of my MC post. Ahem: "Mark my words. These so-called "special" editions of these movies will not sell. They aren't even special. Th...

"Mermaid" platinum release

Does anyone know why the LM platinum release was held off so long? It seems like that would be one of Disney's most in-demand movies, as bidding wars on eBay are not uncommon (I should know, I was in one!). Plus, the other "Katzenberg Stretch" films have already been released, so it seems ...

Hey, That Announcer! Welcome to UD! Though we don't know much about Disney's plans for DVD release of its wealth of old television programs, there are other Disney shows that have features with Animatronics. The only one I can think of right now is the Pirates of the Caribbean bonus content. There ...

To me, VHS is practically now what Beta was about 25 years ago. DVD has come along and is now the predominant format for all video releases, and it's easy to see why. Besides excellent video and sound, bonus features and as many subtitle languages as you can think of, DVDs are smaller, easier to dea...

"Wonderful World of Color"

Since I visited WDW in 2004, I've wanted to learn more about Audio-Animatronics. The "Behind the Disney Studios" DVD did very little for me, as did Jason Surell's book on the Haunted Mansion. I also do not own Disneyland USA. So, does anyone know when the "Wonderful World" episod...
