The same exact thing was said about Beauty and the Beast when it came out. That the story had been darker until they brought Howard Ashman in and he turned it into a musical. And that turned out ok. Granted, this is a different creative team, but somebody's subjective opinion on how dark a fi...

With Zorro confirmed and Ludwig hinted at, I think a second volume of Rarities would be the most likely third choice. In fact, I'm speculating that the reason the three Chip 'n' Dale shorts were kept off of Donald vol. 4 (instead of being added as bonus features a la the Figaro shorts on Pluto vol. ...

Chip and Dale Cartoons

I may be wrong, but I don't recall the press release for Pluto Volume II listing the three Figaro cartoons as bonus features. I think they were included as part of the main material. So I don't think this latest press release means that the three Chip 'n' Dale cartoons won't be included. Of course, ...

It looks like they're cutting the pop-up trivia track. Can anyone confirm that it will (or won't) be part of this release? I'd much rather have that than the "bonus" episode.

Save the Muppets has just relaunched with a petition asking Disney not to go through with its plan to hire multiple performers for each Muppet.

Do we know yet how the shorts on the Specials set will be split between the disks? I'm assuming chronologically, but I could be wrong.

Also, are there any shorts other than Der Fuhrer's Face that would belong in the "From the Vault" menu on The Chronological Donald V2?

You're mistaken; Mickey Mouse in Living Colour Vol 2 had some of the 80s and 90s featurettes on, a good 20-30 years after Walt died.
I am indeed mistaken.

Interesting. Where did you find Maltin's classifications? I'm wondering why, if that's the series he puts the short in, it wasn't released on The Complete Goofy. I'm guessing they didn't want to double dip between Treasures back in Wave 2. They sure have changed their mind about that, though.

According to http://www.ducktales.freeservers.com, Episode 27 is the first of a four-episodes storyline. Is this correct? If so, why would they split them up between volumes like that?

Lars Vermundsberget wrote:How to Ride a Horse, perhaps?
That might be it, but wouldn't it be classified as an "Animated Classic" since it was first released in The Reluctant Dragon? Or does that not count, since The Reluctant Dragon wasn't technically one of Disney's 44 official feature-length animated films?

What are "Two for the Record" and "Contrast in Rhythm," though? I don;t recall those segments from Make Mine Music and Melody Time.

Educational Treasures - Wishful Thinking

Now that we know what's going to be on the WDT Disney Rarities set, I was wondering what people would hope would be included on the rumored Educational Treasures set. Personally, I'd want both Freewayphobias, Scrooge McDuck & Money, It's Tough to Be a Bird, and a complete set of Jiminy Cricket's...

For the record, that is not the Pumbaa cameo. Pumbaa, tied to a stick as if he had been hunted, is being carried by to men through the square in front of Notre Dame during Out There. It may even be in the same shot as Belle's cameo, but I can't say for certain right now. The circled gargoyle is patt...
