Re: Disney's Live-Action Cinderella (2015)

Projectionist's letter: http://digitalcinema.bydeluxe.com/site/dlxportal/docs/CINDERELLA_Release_US_90xxx.pdf Regrettably, in a disconcerning, though unsurprising move, the new Ultron trailer won't be attached. But if anyone does end up seeing Ultron TRL #2 in front of the feature, please let us kno...

Re: Disney Returns to TCM in December 2014

Well said, Escapay. Thanks for clarifying. How silly of me to forget; Just felt slightly off-putting at first. In my eyes, in regards to films not shot with scope lenses during that time, I can never precisely determine what feels more appropriate from a viewer's perspective. I can handle a decent 1...

Re: Into the Woods (Disney-film)

I was wondering, is this the first time Disney studios proper have adapted a pre-existing musical? I can't think of any other examples. Well, there was Evita . I'm surprised we've all forgotten. Perhaps since it was released through the Hollywood label, we can't necessarily associate it with the Di...

Re: Disney Returns to TCM in December 2014

So tonight, the two main 50s titles, Crockett and Third Man are being presented in some decent form of widescreen. I wonder, though: Is there any evidence as to whether these two are either being shown in their proper theatrical OAR or cropped to tightly fit 16:9 monitors? Your thoughts are always a...

Re: What trailers played before the last movie you saw?

And once again, I've neglected to post in an appropriate manner. I swear I'll try to be more timely moving forward, but here's everything my eyes caught since July. The Purge: Anarchy (Adv.): Fandango ad Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Hercules (3D), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Part 1), Unbroken, ...

Our studio attached trailers: Tomorrowland and Inside Out, but sadly no Age of Ultron.

Also, our final runtime (including Feast) will be 1:47:54.

Re: Question about Ichabod/Toad 2 disc edition

Hey Marce! Hopefully i can field this one. 1. Only the 2MC (both Ichabod/F&FF on one BD) includes Reluctant. A bit unfortunate, really. 2. The DVD for this catalog issue does happen to be newly pressed, and per Disney's usual, leaves out certain extras from the GCC disc. It's all covered in Luke...

Re: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Just saw it and loved it. I hope they can do as good with Star Wars. For anyone who hasn't heard yet, you have to stay through the credits for a funny bonus scene.
Any Marvel fan knows to always stay through the credits. Just standard protocol. 8)

Re: August 2014 movies, part 1

July was really the most cramped of the summer months this time around, slightly more so than last year. Glad to know that August will be a bit lighter in that respect. To save time, I'll run down my prospects for the full month here and do both polls on their respective threads. Guardians of the Ga...

Re: James Garner (1928-2014)

For me, it'll always be Atlantis. Really the only role of his I ever bore witness to. A true legend, an early TV pioneer, and an all-around wonderful person, as far as I could guess. He will be missed. I must remember to get my hands on Indian , Castaway Cowboy , and The Distinguished Gentleman (his...

This character design may be the only positive about this whole idea. Let's just see where this goes as more info becomes available. Not enough yet to gauge a full opinion.

Re: The Disney Movie Rewards Discussion & Info Thread Vol. 4

I have resisted the idea of this program until this past weekend, when I received my new iPod (late half-birthday gift, I guess?), effectively replacing my older G1 Nano (worn-out battery, surprise moisture exposure). Realizing an opportunity, I immediately made the DMA app one of my first downloads...

The Little Mermaid (5/22/14) - An irresistible legend in Disney animation's hallowed legacy, looking near-show off in HD. Plot may be a tad simplified, but A+ soundtrack makes up for it. Bonus points: Anyone else wish Ursula's picture could appear in a dictionary, next to the word "theatricalit...

My last five... 1. Who Framed Roger Rabbit (5/1/2014) Viewed in memory of the late, great Bob Hoskins whose career was pretty much secured after this role. Fans of old Hollywood, detective capers and overall animation alike will find something to love with what may be one of Bob Zemeckis' greatest w...
