Two Holiday Disney Channel specials

Post by spies13 »

Does anybody remember the 90 minute versions of Disney's Halloween Treat and a Disney Channel Christmas? They used to be shown on the Disney Channel all the time during halloween and christmas. Do you think they will ever be released on DVD? I used to have them on tape but the tapes wore out.

I have the Disney Channel Christmas special. Used to have Halloween Treat - but that tape wore out as well. However, I thought Halloween Treat WAS on DVD? Isn't it on Mickey's House of Villains?

The halloween treat i'm thinking of had a talking mirror and was an hour and a half long. It started off with a song and had many clips of classic disney movies as well as 6 or 7 halloween cartoons.

The Disney Channel Christmas had jiminy cricket hosting as well as many disney holiday clips and a bunch of christmas cartoons.

Both were 90 minutes. You can get them on ebay at the highly edited time of 47 minute each but i was looking for the original versions i grew up with. Hopefully they get put out on DVD. It would make a nice Walt Disney Treasure volume with these two as well as a few more cartoons thrown in don't ya think?

Yes, I have the 90 minute Disney Channel Christmas.

The Halloween Treat - didn't it have a rather large talking pumpkin? Used to scare the heck outta me as a kid!

The talking pumpkin was on the 47 minute version that you can buy used on EBAY or AMAZON.COM

Is your Disney Christmas on DVD or VHS. I really want a copy on DVD. Let me know. Thanks

A Disney Channel Christmas

Post by spies13 »

I know this is a very obscure request but does anybody here remember the Disney Channel Christmas special hosted by Jiminy Cricket that was 90 minutes long? It was run in the 80's during xmas time and i used to have it on tape but i taped over it. Now i thought my daughter might like to see it.

Anyway it was a special consisting of a bunch of holiday themed cartoons as well as clips from disney movies. If anybody has the 90 minute version preferably burned onto DVD i would be very interested in purchasing it. Let me know. THanks

Disney Holiday Special DVDs

Post by spies13 »

This has probably been discussed before but do you guys out there think there is any chance in h*ll that Disney releases the AMAZING holiday specials from the early 80's entitled A Disney Halloween, A Disney Channel Christmas, and From Disney with Love.

These were 90 minute specials on the disney channel with holiday themed cartoons blended together with scenes from classic Disney movies. I have some on tape but they are highly worn out. I highly doubt they would release them, but i think they should. Who can i contact to request them?

I definitely remember the Disney holiday specials; I really enjoyed them as a kid. I would still enjoy them now. I also remember something on tv that I think was called "Disney's Day Off". I had it on tape.
I don't know if this would really be called a special. It was at least a couple of hours long it had tons of cartoon shorts and it also had "Ben and Me", "Peter and the Wolf" and a few more.
I looked at a bunch of websites and nobody has ever mentioned this. I would like to know if any one else remembers this? :?

Same cartoon?

Is this the Halloween Special where Donald is listening to the old-time radio show and you see the hand shadows reaching for him? Does that sound familiar? I know this was a Halloween cartoon, but not sure of the name. It was the best. :)
I have been searching for that one for awhile now. I used to have it on Beta, but my parents threw all the beta tapes away when they canned the BetaMax. That's depressing, as we had TONS of The Disney Channel recorded from about 1983-1986 (maybe more). :(

If im rembering correctly...during disney channel's old "halloween treat" is where i saw the movie "the monster squad", the movie with the kids who must stop dracula from taking over the town after he wakes up and takes frankenstein and the mummy with him...it's very "goonies-esque"...

Gosh great movie...and great old specials.

It is a single toon that is on this tape but that's all I can recall from the tape. Image (or for later copies

I have this. It's a super-VHS transfer from a tape in the late 80's onto one DVD-R. Obviously, it's VHS quality, but it won't wear out. :D

Of course, if it gets wonky, you can easily make a quick backup.

Yes, it's the complete version.
