LOST: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON is presented with theatrical style specifications – widescreen with a Dolby® Digital 5.1 Surround Soundtrack - for an optimal viewing experience.
LOST is the thrilling adventure of 48 survivors of a plane crash, all stranded on an island that holds many secrets. Matthew Fox (“Party of Five”) stars as Jack, the quick-thinking doctor and group leader.
Stripped of everything, the 48 survivors scavenge what they can from the plane for their survival. Some panic. Some pin their hopes on rescue. A few find inner strength they never knew they had — like Kate (Evangeline Lilly, TV’s “Kingdom Hospital”), who, with no medical training, suddenly finds herself suturing the doctor's wounds. Hurley (Jorge Garcia, TV’s “Becker”) — a man with a warm sense of humor despite the desperate situation — does his best to keep his cool as he helps those around him to survive. Charlie (Dominic Monaghan, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy) is a faded rock star who harbors a painful secret. Sayid (Naveen Andrews, Bride and Prejudice) is a Middle Eastern man who must wrestle with the racial profiling directed at him by some of his fellow survivors.
Jin (Daniel Dae Kim, TV’s “24”) and Sun (Yunjin Kim, “Shiri”) are a Korean couple whose traditions, values
and language are foreign, causing much to get lost in the translation. Sawyer (Josh Holloway, TV’s “Sabretooth”) has an air of danger surrounding him, and his intense sense of mistrust for everyone around him could prove to be fatal to his fellow castaways. Michael (Harold Perrineau, “The Matrix” series) has just gained custody of his nine-year-old son, Walt (Malcolm David Kelley, “Antwone Fisher”), after the death of his exwife — they are a father and son who don't even know each other. Locke (Terry O'Quinn, TV’s “The West Wing”) is a mysterious man who keeps to himself, and who harbors a deeper connection to the island than any of the others. Claire (Emile de Ravin, TV’s “The Beastmaster”) is pregnant. Self-centered Shannon (Maggie Grace, TV’s “Cold Case”) and her estranged controlling brother, Boone (Ian Somerhalder, TV’s “Young Americans”), constantly bicker and must learn to get along if they are to survive.
The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must work together against the cruel weather and harsh terrain if they want to stay alive. But the island holds many secrets, including the intense howls of the mysterious creatures stalking the jungle, which fill them all with fear. Fortunately, thanks to the calm leadership of quick-thinking Jack and level-headed Kate, they have hope. But even heroes have secrets, as the survivors will come to learn.
LOST is created by J.J. Abrams, Jeffrey Lieber and Damon Lindelof, from Touchstone Television.

Yay!! ^_^
Thanks for posting the PR, Luke.
This is indeed an incredibly good show - next to Late Night with Conan O'Brien, it's the only show I watch regularly. I just direly hope that the writers don't back themselves into a corner, posing all these mysteries to the audience - and then not having sufficient or satisfactory answers to follow them up. That happened in varying degrees to Alias and The X-Files, unfortunately.
Anyhoo, this set looks very nice, imo. The extras look pretty cool, and surprisingly in-depth, for a TV box set. And I have hopes that a certain admin might spare me a screener to review, too... ^_^

LOST was probably one of the most original new shows on television last season and I am looking forward to its release on DVD. My other favorite show from last year HOUSE was released last week.
I hope that the second season of "Lost" is at least half as good as the first season. The cliffhangers in each episode were more than enough to keep me coming back each week and, of course, the way the season ended has me wondering what direction they will take this season.
Like the critics say - part "Survivor" and part "X-Files", "Lost" will grab you and not let go.

I'm bumping this thread not to alert you to the completion of UD's long-awaited DVD review (though I wish I were), but to let you know that you can get a copy of the recently-released Season 4 DVD of "Alias" (from the creator of "Lost", J.J. Abrams) by helping Disney decide which of 4 TV spots is the best: click here to see, decide, and possibly win.

Ah-hehe... yeah, about that...
Well, this semester my workload was WAY more than expected, then after the doomsday period known as finals, I was working nonstop at my job 'til Christmas. Then I had Christmas itself (which is turning more and more into a chore than a joy every year >_<), then immediately afterwards I went on vacation where I don't quite have the facilities to review the set. So the review's been sitting about half-finished, or a little more, since October.
So right now, uh, I'm doing research for the review by visiting a tropical island. Yeeeeeeeeeeeah... that's the ticket!
