I'm reading the book for English Literature and was interested to discover a movie version exists. If any of you have seen it, is it a good movie? I've not completely finished the book, so don't give me any spoilers. I would like to know if it's worth a watch...

Just second hand but I heard from a few people including my mother who had both read the book and seen the movie that the movie was not nearly as good as the book(considered a classic in Canada).
