They're not going to stop featuring diversity in their films, if that's what you're hoping. They've been featuring diversity since the '90s, one employee really has no bearing on that.... The article even says a new individual will fill the spot in time?

Her not writing her own goodbye letter is a massive red flag...she didn’t leave by choice.

Good riddance!

Yes, but the role will still be filled by somebody else eventually.

I wouldn’t listen to the guy this article sources. He’s a far-right lunatic.

I didn't open the link, not because I'm disinterested to read it but because I didn't recognize the website. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a right-leaning source or something, they have an ax to grind with Disney. That said, TLM has underperformed, and Lightyear, Strange World, and Elemental have flopped. The pandemic films like Encanto, Raya, TR, Luca, etc. are too marred by the circumstance to judge too harshly (we do know Encanto did better than the others for being a musical, and I think TR and Luca were on some end-of-year streaming top 10 lists at one point or other, too, I can't remember?). Still, it was a bad time to mess things up following the pandemic, it makes it harder to climb out of the hole it left them in.

He really isn't, but looking at your twitter interactions, anyone who's even a bit critical of Disney is a "far-right lunatic". Sorry but that's not how the real world works.

A far right lunatic wouldn't tweet these:

https://twitter.com/mrRuimy/status/9287 ... EZ3LQ&s=19

But go off I guess....

The most genius thing Disney and other studios managed to do is to convince people like you that shilling for them and defending their movies is some form of activism.

I’m reading a lot on YouTube from sources I trust (not Disney apologists) about Disney going broke and how company morale is in the toilet. If it’s true, I must say it doesn’t surprise me...

Due to repeated violations of the rule against personal attacks, you are being suspended for a month. If you don't change your ways, it will lead to a permanent ban.

Iger’s staying on until 2026

https://wdwnt.com/2023/07/breaking-bob- ... ough-2026/

I kinda expected he would stay longer than he said he would when he first came back. Was it a good idea for Iger to come back after Chapek? I think he would have been remembered as one of Disney’s best CEOs if his tenure had really ended in 2020. Has he threatened his legacy coming back? On the other hand, 2026 is three years away, probably plenty of time to right the ship.

Shocking. I don't know, I think things will turn around slowly, at least in some areas if not others. For WDAS at least, I think Wish will be the turn-around point, whereas Marvel will probably continue to have ups along with downs from here on out (people just aren't as enthused with the genre after Endgame felt like a proper "end"). PIXAR may continue to spin with Elio, no idea about Star Wars, the Avatar franchise will probably continue to be successful.

IDK, how much does "legacy" mean in the scheme of things? Especially when you're as young as he is, are you meant to disappear for the sake of "legacy" in a media sense at a young age like that? Not that I'm a fan of him exactly, I feel neither way about him. Somebody has to be CEO and they're never very likable.

Bob Iger is currently 72, which is a few years past the average US retirement age.

Interesting! He looks like he's in his 50's or something from the pictures I'd seen today with the headlines. The benefit of being rich, I guess. Still, I don't believe in putting limits on somebody because of their age really.

He was part of the wage fixing scandal years ago, wasn't he? So that doesn't surprise me. CEOs are always money-oriented above anything else.
