Source: https://deadline.com/2022/09/disney-cha ... 235129748/A Disney film is in the works featuring the character Figment, a small purple dragon who serves as the mascot of Epcot’s Imagination Pavilion in Orlando. The feature hails from Seth Rogen’s Point Grey with Pokémon Detective Pikachu‘s Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit set to write.
Figment was created by Walt Disney Imagineers Tony Baxter and Steve Kirk, among other collaborators, in 1983, the same year it made its debut in the Epcot ride Journey Into Imagination. Figment is the embodiment of the imagining process— a figment of your imagination. The feature will not be Figment’s first time on the big screen, however. He made cameo appearances in 2015’s Inside Out and 2019’s Toy Story 4.

Detective Pikachu was fun, so fingers crossed this film is more like that and less like Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers...

Re: Figment: The Movie
I loved Detective Pikachu, so I'm very hopeful and optimistic with those writers on board.
The curve ball for me is Point Grey, I've liked a lot of their films. but they 100% are more adult in nature. It seems like they're beginning to branch out more with an upcoming TMNT title and a Where's Waldo? movie (to name a few) so I guess I'll wait to see... but this is also the studio that brought us Sausage Party.
I think a Figment movie needs to probably get a little psychedelic though so maybe this will play out well.
